    Re: Broadcast Camera

    Garghg??!

They've done it again if the demo is to be believed. They call it a Broadcast camera but a mid ice broadcast camera is fixed and doesn't shift along making everything side on! Plus the rink is too small in this view. Don't get me wrong I love the game when placed in classic view but if you want a broadcast experience you really can't have one playing this game.

    Rant over.

Completely agree. We may have to make a Brotherhood of Broadcast Camera Thread (BBC) here as well. Similar to the thread in Madden.

EA needs to fix that camera. They have done a nice job with it in the 2K series

NBA Live's Broadcast cam wasn't the best either. Its an EA thing but since the gameplay is better now, they can focus on the Presentation

I'v never managed to get the controls for the broadcast cam into my head. The aiming is a lottery and i always forget how to shoot and while deking it be a great success if i could actually keep it away from the defense. Next period i'm back at square one...

Don't you guys find it hard to do all the controls like aiming shots, shooting deking etc. with the broadcast cam?

I know I'm only one person, but 2k's broadcast cam could be the difference maker to me. I absoultely need a great tv broadcastcam to play from in a sports game these days and, unfortunately, EA's just doesn't cut it. I sure wish EA would implement one already. I really thought this was going to be the year.

            Re: Broadcast Camera

I started using the broadcast cam last year when the game was getting too easy and it worked like a charm. I do wish the cam was closer in, but it makes the game a little more challenging having to play from a poorer angle.

I think we really need a thread similar to maddens to get the point accross to Littman and the boys at EA. This half *** camera needs to be a tweaked. If we don't speak up in volume they won't listen.

Obviously this has got my support. Lets unite in a brotherhood of broadcast camera way. Does anyone have any contact details and we can start pestering the developers (For NHL 11 now I guess).

i never understood the love for the broadcasat camera. its ok to watch on tv, but i wish tv would do more of the video game view because it is easier to see how the plays developed. same as in football, i wish we saw the play from behind the LOS to see how the play develops. broadcast view to me seems to be for people who are so hell bent on usuing it because its what they see on tv, and not because it is the most practical view to use. The up and down is more practical to see whats happening, and i wish that the producers of these sporting events would start showing the games from those angles more so the viewer can see exactly how the plays brokedown.

I've been playing "up and down" hockey since 1992, and it's more than a little STALE to me at this point. Time for a change. With the power of consoles these days, we should be able to get camera angles just like we see on TV, IMO.

my point is tv should have more of the up and down view. especially more for football but it would work for hockey too. It just allows you to see what happens and how the play develops better. Stale or not there is a reason the videogame developers give you that view. It allows you to see the play better. I think TV should follow suit.

The broadcast camera is a highly over looked feature in these EA games. Implementing such a camera it would go ultra far in breathing authenticity into their sports titles.

To be able to walk into a room and almost not distinguish whether you are viewing a video game or a live game. The camera angle would most likely be used by the armchair GM gamers. And there is something to be said about these gamers as well. But that's a whole other topic.

I am not a big fan of any of their camera angles. I hope they change that next year.

EA seems to take great pride in the minutia of the game of hockey like a players facial features down to what kind of stick he uses however, they really take little to no time in how the game is viewed the most to the public, which is via television broadcast camera.

Ive allways played sport games using a broadcast view. I for my part love the overview you have using a broadcast view. An other aspect why I chose this view is because the factor of optical distortion is minimized
