I'm going to chalk this up to having something to do with Southern California. I think the area is still struggling coming down from all the acid trips of the 60's and the mesmerizing effects of picking the correct Prias.

Anywhoooo...... considering there is no demo, skipping cutscenes & IR's is a bad move by WWTC seeing as he's an employee. I figured he would want the fans to know what's coming there way as much as possible and this has been about the only vehicle to showcase it. Somebody at 2K said it best in talking about Canada's EB's/Gamestops giving the trade in deal and one of them having had 100 pre-orders for EA10, while his was the first one they had for 2K10. "Whoooops" on that marketing strategy.

I think he was just showing gameplay? It seem that is what most of the people wanted to see. Plus it probably make the vid too long. They were 14 minutes which is too long. If he didn't skip maybe it would have been too long?

I am hoping to get the game this week, but just hoping. If i do, i will setup my cam and stream me playing it on ustream, but i am not a hockey pro like most of you folks. I am still learning whats sim and not sim as far as Hockey goes.

For old time sake can you put the Love Boat vid up again for Eddie and Scott!!! That was classic... They are fun to mess with!!!! Love it...

Anyways back on semi topic.. I am really hoping we get some more vids this week.. It's coming down to crunch time... Hopefully one of the OS vets can get the game early so we can get some impressions going!!!

Well Scott will be playing the game hands on this Friday he said, so he'll be giving us some impressions soon. How biased or unbiased they will be remains to be seen, but at least he'll be able to say he has played the game before it was released.

Yeah I will be honest. But my honest will probably be difference than other. I like 2K9. I don't know why. I just did. I had a blast with it. The one thing that was hard was the graphics. Now that the graphics are fixed. I am happy. I hope the sliders work for you guys. And playing a game 5 day earlier is not that big of a deal. Though I am still pumped to go. Never did anything like this before.

Hehe, i am just hoping, i didnt get the BIgs 2 until about a 3 weeks later. The only copy they had was the Wii game and i dont own a wii. I will be bugging them for the game starting tomorrow when everyone gets back to work. lol

That is cool tyler, but we do know one thing they will have the right color helmet for your caps. But all you have to do is buy EA and if u like the reviews for this game u can maybe get it later.

I can usually count on 2k not to screw simple things like that up, especially after having it right for years.

If the reviews are solid and there aren't game-breaking problems, I may look for it on e-bay or in the used bin in December.

The only problem I have is that magazine reviews and such are based on limited playing time, so alot of the flaws in a game aren't pointed out. Take NHL09 for example, if all those flaws that plagued the game upon release were noticed by reviewers, do you really think the game would have gotten high 8 scores? Nope, but 2K would fare far worse as well. Point is, to try and wait and catch some solid reviews from people that spent time with the game and can catch most of the flaws. Thats my opinion on how I personally would go about it if I was on the fence.

Reviews of sports games are generally something you want to take with a grain of salt. It's the same with any game type that you're really into.

For example, I love rhythm games. I've spent more money than I'm willing to admit on them. I know that (in my mind) Rock Band is better than Guitar Hero for a number of reasons. Reviewers give them both similar scores because they're pretty and have songs in them. But, after hundreds of hours of gameplay, I prefer Rock Band for it's intuitive charts, nice presentation, and good visual response.. among other things.

Reviewers will never portray this in a review because what they do is only really skin deep. If you're going to play a game for hundreds of hours it's always best to rent it and give it the time for yourself.

No review can tell you how you'll feel about a game after sinking hundreds of hours into it.

Shi@ yeah we are!!! Anyways, did anyone see the vid someone made at 2khockey.net as far as annimations go. Someone took the vid and slowed it down. Showcased the annimations... It was really cool to see.. I just wish they would get new announcing. Hopefully we get someothing new today.

That's what I was referring to a few days ago when I posted that the incidental animations in 2K10 were second to none. Comparable to the difference between the quality and number of animations in APF 2K8 versus Madden. It's definitely one of the strengths of VC and its developers.

One thing though: the transition animations in 2K10 can be rough, and cause the player movement to look jumpy at times. Not near as bad as the MLB 2K series, but noticeable nevertheless. EA's game is more successful in that department IMO.

Yeah about 2 seconds worth that resulted in the pinned player throwing an a deliberate elbow to the face. Its there and I'm sure a better brand of sim sliders than what Cup (worse sim sliders ever there Cup) was using will make it more prevalent (I hope anyway) It is a bit disappointing to see that 2k's brand of board pinning is still a hold over from last gen though especially when you take into account all the attention paid to the other coincidental contact animations, most of which actually are fairly impressive as pointed out in that youtube clip.
