We don't have any other options to play an NFL game. They are it and we need them to step up and show us that they actually can make an elite NFL sim.
Again, I agree, but the EA is a Fortune 500 company with money coming out of their pockets is ideal imagery.

In this economy, EA has suffered just like any other company. Earlier in the year, Tibouran laid off several hundred ( I think) employees in Orlando, just like other companies have had cutbacks this year.

Just because they are the only game in town doesn't mean they are immune to the economy.

Yeah, I know, I remember hearing of the layoffs. They have lost a lot of money, but still, IMO, doesn't make a dent with EA with the money that they already have.

They need to stop making excuses and have everyone step up that is there. It doesn't get bigger than EA in the video game world. They should and need to be on top of their game for the consumer especially, but I am sure they would do what they can for themselves first...IMO

The bolded part, I find very hard to believe, especially when it comes to this community. As for the casual gamer, no they may not notice whats been fixed via a patch, but they certainly know that a patch was implemented because well, they are prompted to download it. Which may cause some of them to turn to the internet in search for what exactly this new patch did for their game.

And what is the magical number for "too many noticable things"? Look around the Show forums, the MLB 2k forums, the NBA 2k forums, and you'll notice people looking for fixes for "many things" to enhance their gaming experience. And as is the case with the Madden forum, some will seek these fixes because they feel the game is broken and others will seek the fixes to make the game more complete for them.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Yeah, I hear you, but I need to ask a question.

Where did this perception come from that EA is multi-billionaire company?

I see this from some people that have an axe to grind, but EA paid handsomely for the NFL license and have been losing $ on Madden on NG.

Where is Tibouran/Madden making all this money? Maybe it's from the other games, but certainly not Madden.

Pretty exciting news. I'm loving our OF, and think the experience will be positively blissful by the time the full set of fixes is out.

Major kudos for the work on this game!

I didn't say they are a multi-billion dollar company. However, they do have millions in profits and hundreds of millions in revenue.

Ea may have been better off not paying for the NFL license and not having to lose more money...IMO.

Tiburon/Madden will probably see and make more money than most of us will ever know or see.

I don't care if you're 17 and in high school. If you've got a girlfriend, you need in game saves. That better be in Madden 11.

Obviously this is not the case in this community, but this community makes up a vast minority of Madden's fanbase.

                  Coming from an offline gamer.
As a game programmer and developer myself, I know precisely where this misinformation originates, It's part assumption, part bad research, and a lot of personal experience from certain game developers, who play "online" and have an assumption that everyone else does as standard.

Most surveys are even quite meaningless in this respect, as folks like to "stretch the truth" at best...e.g. - Surveyer "Are you an online game player"...Surveyee.."Sure, all the time"...reality..I tried it a few times...

I'd say 95% offline of all games of Madden 10 ever played, is probably on the safe side or reality. It's probably quite a lot higher

Maybe so, but if I'm an investor at this time, I'd be really nervous or I would have sold off my shares for a loss.

A 52 week high of 48.00 per share vs 18.95 per share currently.

It’s more for aesthetics. I love broadcast mode, especially in APF. Why? Well, not to start bringing up APF2K8 but when you line up two teams together and let the CPU duke it out, it looks like a real broadcast (example below). For those of you with APF, try it. I always end up seeing something new when I do that. It’s really cool that EA is applying this to Madden 10.

I wish the developers would use this for a “Spectator Mode” to make it more useful and interactive among the community. People can then watch other league games in broadcast mode while waiting. I thought Madden 09/APF would apply this but I guess it’s a real difficult thing to do. By the way, if anyone has ever been to an NFL game...the Jumbotron always broadcasts in a side-way view, not behind the quarterback....ahem....

Ahem. Mr. Cummings. Spectator Mode…is it possible for future games?

Yeah, I respect you as an investor, especially at this time, but EA has the gamers and the one of the most popular things out there for video games: Sports. Even tho this is a struggling time right now in the economy, EA is built for it, and video games sales are the one thing that has become even stronger during this recession.

Good, I definately hope your point is taken. I am extremely hopefull that future Maddens will be geared towards offline gamers.

I am glad my assumptions are wrong.

I hope you didn't take my post as being authoritative as I was accused of. It certainly wasn't my objective. sI went off my assumption which as you said are incorrect.

Video game sales have declined for the 5th straight month. They are not growing stronger during the recession.
