YAAAAAAAAAAWN......at the first patch. None of the things listed about patch 1 come even remotely close to making this game any better. i dont play online, i just never got into the online because i'd probably have a better chance at winning online if i throw my 6 yr old son in a game and have him press A and pass it to A the whole game, thats about the way the whole 2-3 games ive ever played online have been. Until the pass/run blocking is fixed, this game still isnt the Madden it could be. oh wow, a broadcast cam..............lame. it'll probably be playoff time when patch 2 arrives.

Yeah, I totally misinterpreted the video. My mistake Dave. I fixed the quoted post.
I'm actually glad I was wrong.

Re: Madden NFL 10 FAQ - Part 1
Why is Ian so against offline franchise? All you ever hear is online this, and online that. Everybody doesn't play online. So basically the offline issues gets pushed to the back burner. My other is how many people would really buy the game if it was online only? They just put franchise mode in there for sales purposes.
Maybe you didn't hear, but the first patch was completed a week before the game launched.
The passing in the flats wasn't discovered until after the game launched, that is why it's included in the second patch.
It's very similar to 08 when fatigue and fumbles weren't noticed until the game came out. Those were fixed in the second patch.
It is what it is.Comment

Are you assuming because he plays in online leagues that he is interested more in online issues?

It's not assuming. It's fact, cause thats all he talks about. Oh, don't let me forget his favorite saying "it's cool". You look at videos before launch and after launch. It's online this, and online that. I know it's the "cool"thing to do now, but not everyone is interested in playing online.
He's the Creative Director of Madden overall, not the Online Director.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 FAQ - Part 1
Good to hear. But it seems the biggest issues, flats and pursuit angles, are off til the 2nd update. This is bad news for me as these are the biggest areas effecting gameplay in general. The flats especially are absolutely killing the overall game.
Looking forward to the 2nd update, but this is getting shelved til then...UNLESS...someone finds a way of temporarily fixing the flats issue OR the 1st update makes the flats a lesser issue. I am hoping on the later....I want to LOVE M10, but in its current state, i can not.
thanks again Ian for all your hard work at making Madden better for all of us.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 FAQ - Part 1
I'm a little concerned about if the offensive players' pursuit ratings were increased for the draft classes as well..... :/
I would hate for the defense to score a bunch of TDs again a couple years into franchise because the new guys don't know how to take a good angle on an interception..Comment

i mean even playing Head to head...NOONE noticed how easy and how WIDE open backs were in the flats? Nobody?

And on that same note. So the online director is his boss?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 FAQ - Part 1
My only response to that is that is something that you have to be looking for. I didn't notice anything till I came on here and people were complaining about it. I only dump it in the flats when I sense trouble.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 FAQ - Part 1
This isn't going anywhere. I'm not sure how you can read people's mind from the internet just based on words.
Ian more interested in online vs offline and I'm taking things too personal.
Back on topic.
Thanks Ian for the updated information.Comment
