Hmmmmm.....Wow! With all of the positive feedback here, ya'll had me thinking this was actually going to be good.

Ohhhh Noooo. This game is just as spaztaztic as ever. It's STILL a struggle to get them to do a simple jumpshot-nuff said.

THE ENGINE!!!!! THIS HORRENDOUS ENGINE!!!!! The same problem as Madden. EA just doesn't get it. Basing a sports game 90% off of animations is not simulation, not fun, and certainly does not "give the user more control". Use the Havok engine, or...something!! The future is ragdoll physics (like real life), NOT animations. It's so clear.....EA is for the kids, and 2K is for the adults (Was that too much? I can never tell.). I've never played Fifa or NHL, but, those games get alot of praise. Maybe EA should just stick to hockey, and soccer.

I couldn't wait to run back to 2K10 Draft Combine, and its smooooth gameplay-which gives the user TOTAL control.

As easy as this decision is, just imagine how easy it would be to choose a new 2K football game over Madden!

I think it was just the hangar cause once I played the game they weren't so light.

I'm familiar with Live's playcalling.. I know to wait until it lights up and all that. My issue is that if you bring up icons and pass the designated man the ball, it stops the play (or did all of the times I tried it anyway), thus forcing you to use regular A button passing, which is still pretty inaccurate. I didn't try Freestyle, so if someone has the game available, see if you can use that on the plays.

Overall I liked the demo...from a Live standpoint, this is the best Live I've played. Definately gonna take some time to get used to the controls (Im a 2k guy) I did get stripped alot. Im cool with that.....for now (until i get better with the controls).

It was hard to play good D. I Ball hogged with Kobe for the most part, some of the shots he made were hmmm...some of the arc trajectory on his shots that would go in didnt seem realistic. but its not that big a deal for me. I do wish some of the buttons on D were more responsice as far as going for a steal or block. Rebounds were ok on some possesions and on some others they seemed to be kinda ackward.

The Sig shots are great, crowd is great, staples organ, graphics, nice. Freethrows are better tweaked this year as well.

All in all I gotta play this game more before i can give a final grade. Im at work now but when I get home Im gonna disect this game.
Yeah so in summation I don't know who you racing I'm already at the finish line with the flag waving, c'mon!

Is this the same NBA Live series of past? This is amazingly different. All the moves you have at your control. Things are just so different. I'm not getting my hopes to high though.

Can this be the game that finally turns me over from NBA 2K series? I don't know but from the looks & feel it's gonna be a definite possibility. However, gameplay is just a part of what I want in a solid basketball game. Let's see about the franchise/dynasty mode for me.

I can't believe all the moves you have available from the controls. This is an awesome advancement for NBA Live. I can only say WOW at this point especially in comparison to past titles. Thanks!

The demo is outstanding. I haven't owned an NBA game in years and this year's Live is miles ahead of what EA has done. The visuals and Finals presentation are outstanding. The controls are also back in the gamer's hands. No more suck-in animations....

Hopefully they use this same engine for NCAA.....

Hmm... I was able to get the plays going with the icons don't know what the problem is for you.

Were you making quick passes or did you let the players settle in their spots?

With icon passing I know that you have to make sure you let the player settle in his spot because if not it thinks you are trying to do something else.

This same thing used to happen in 09 for me sometimes.

Okay I'll mess with it some more.. I played about 15 games but wasn't always running plays so I didn't get a ton of time with it. Seemed like I didn't have that problem in Live 09 but I was having issues this morning. Chalk that one up to me being an idiot I guess.

Lol man there's a lot to get used to this year but I think if I keep playing I think its going to one fun experience.

The AI feels great this year in one game Lewis lit me up for 4 treys. I was screaming at Gasol to get out on him every time.

Nelson lit me up in another game was just abusing me off the dribble can't wait to see how the Lakeshow plays when I get home.

Really got to get used to playing d. Keeping up with my man is a pain sometimes. Although I like the controls on Live, the game just seems to be moving to fast to me. Gives it kind of a floaty feel.

                            Likes:

Love the playcalling. Still the best play calling system around.
Love the Arenas and the Graphics.
Love the player movement and spacing.

                            Hate:

First play of the game on Superstar difficulty. Dwight Howard gets a pass at the top of the key, proceeds to take 20 foot jumper and makes it. He takes the same jumper 8 plays later.

Too much dribbling at the three point line by the CPU controlled PG while waiting to run a play.

Even though my impressions contained more negative bullet points than positive, I really like the game... just wanted to clear that up. Most of my issues are probably the result of unfamiliarity (I was randomly using RB for icon passing for the first 5 games ha) more than anything. My single biggest issue is the defensive switching and being able to signal that manually.

Completely in love with the level of control, and that was always my biggest gripe about b-ball games in general, but especially last year. Knowing that I can essentially do whatever I want to once I get the controls under my belt is a good feeling. I had some beautiful sequences with VC and Kobe in isolation and on broken plays where I'd see a little space in the defense and head right to it for the quick off-balance jumper.

I love that you have to play smart on defense and try to force them into jumpers instead of playing them all tight (since 90% of NBA wings can take tight coverage off the dribble). I also like the other side where you basically have to have space to execute the more complex dribble moves... can't just drive into your man, go behind the back and expect to be able to finish (normally the help comes over and blocks it, you get stripped, or you can't actually pull off the move).

I love seeing AI Kobe isolate way deep on the wing when the clock is running down then size up and drive for the pull-up three to finish the quarter. I have a feeling that the full game will have a lot more of these moments as we see different players taking control late in games, players getting the ball in their favorite spots when they need a score, etc. Very excited about being able to play with other teams and players because they all feel so different based on the hangar.

And yeah, 'Melo is so very smooth. I'm gonna have a field day with that dude this year -- release is quick and buttery and his handles and weird 'Melo finishes with the 2-step and adjusted layups will be nuts.

Played some more and this Is definitley the best Live in a long time but one thing that I have noticed that has not been talked about is the lack of moves off of a post position by anyone other than the PF & C. I mean Artest and Kobe both play w/their back to the basket alot and all I see them do is take jumpers or drive and make contested shots or layups. I mean where is Kobe's fadeaway off the post position. I love the movement and the playcalling and the feel of the game. The contextual/auto post up is not working for me and I just don't like it and for me its a game killer. I mean making a move off a post position is a big part of the NBA and maybe I'm doing something wrong but I just don't see it.

I mean I want to be able to decide when I post someone up not the cpu decide for me.
