Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
Unfortunately, LT has been ruled out. I would have rather he be in than Sproles at this point in the game. On the topic of Sproles, we better get much tighter on special teams fast or he is gonna rip off some long gains. -
Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
I think our D will be better this game, we just gotta get off the field on 3rd downs and stop the run a bit more consistantly. That almost killed the chargers in the raider game and that can't happen to many times with the Ravens.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
Neither of the Chargers lines will be fully healthy. Jamal Williams and Luis Castillo are both already banged up and the offensive line took a beating against the Raiders. Hardwick is out for a while.
I see the Ravens dominating the LOS on both sides of the ball.

Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
I believe this will be another close 4th quarter game. I can see the chargers beating the ravens 24-21 if they can stop the run a bit more consistantly and protect Rivers just enough to let him set his feet and make the throw. I also think the chargers pass D will be a bit sharper in this game if we can stop the run a bit more.
The real biggie for the chargers D is to get off the field on 3rd downs. If the Defense can accomplish that more consistantly I think the chargers can pull through this one with a tough win at home.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment

Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
The banged up Charger O-Line and their less than impressive victory over Oakland would seem to favor the Ravens, who but for a handful of plays, dominated KC. Two stats in the Oakland game are out of whack-Jamarcus was 12-30, 1 TD, and 2 picks, and yet the Raiders were still 7 of 14 on 3rd downs.
As a Raven fan I'm hopeful of a dynamic offense to compliment our strong D-if Rivers gets too much time we'll need every inch of that offense.

Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
Nearly a black out for this game huh? Its funny that a lot of charger fans always rip the Raiders for almost getting blacked out yet this has been happening to the chargers for years.
Anyways, Ravens D steps up. Chargers too banged up and will probably hurt them more than they think. Ravens, 28. Chargers 17.Comment

Jamal Williams to the IR.
Now Baltimore (and every other team they face) should be able to run with success against the Chargers this year.
Training camp started out so promising. *sigh*Comment

Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
He didn't look that great last week against the Raiders. McFadden and Bush were able to run very well against them.
He is getting up there in age. Do the Chargers have anyone in line to replace him long term?Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

No.
And they let Igor Olshansky walk who, while he didn't make plays, was a big body that ate up bodies from the opposing offensive line.Comment

Re: Week 2: Ravens @ Chargers.
Yeah when I found out jamal was out for the entire season I was like why lord, why!?. Ok our D-line is jacked up right now the linebackers will have to do work. This game is going to be as rough as it gets for the chargers. Hopefully the guys behind the original starters can show some worth in this game.
If they don't show up for the most part maybe they'll show up when it matters the most. The game to win definitely favors the ravens though.
Well at least we have them at home....
Edit: Don't sleep on the chargers special teams. Almost forgot about that little aspect. Darren will need to make a little splash in special teams to give us a better shot at winning this game.Last edited by SouthernBrick; 09-19-2009, 06:02 PM.Originally posted by WatsonTigerOne out of 7 billion, and we still tagged your ***.Comment
