So I've noticed that they still haven't fixed the issue with the clock not stopping when being forced out of bounds. I've never been one to say something could be a gamebreaker, let alone post about it but how is this not addressed in the patch? This kills 2 min drills which kills the drama in late comebacks.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZisVEtLQxe0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZisVEtLQxe0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Sorry for the terrible quality. My camera sucks and to make matters worse I was playing in the AFL mode.

Nevertheless! When they tackle Maroney and he drags the defender out of bounds the clock was at :08 and they actually allow it to run off to :07 after he finally goes down (so I was thinking alright there goes a second but a least the clock will stop) and if the replay didn't cut off, you'd see the ref making the motion to keep the clock running. This has happened to me continuously and I just don't understand why this wasn't big enough for EA to put into the first patch let alone the game as is out of the box.

Dont know if this has been posted. Just played Eagles (Me) @ Panthers and I noticed incomplete passes on the field stopped the clock but incomplete passes that were thrown out of bounds do not stop the clock.

Surprised however, that the CPU actually had some offense. I give this patch a reasonable 8.5/10.

anyone else noticing a huge increase in broken tackles for both human and cpu? also, run blocking and pass blocking are both vastly improved, which imo is a good thing for the run game, but not so good for the pass game.

Pros: Saw the nice sideline cutscene. never seen that 1 b4. Broadcast cam was cool. Still needs work like its too far away. should zoom in on players when they are running for touchdown, also should zoom in on QB's walking to the line then zoom back out when hes ready to hike. Blocking seemed some what better. Man coverage and zone coverage is way better IMO.

Cons: The guy got the completion with the sideline animation. tho i still didnt see a toe drag animation. Also my game froze twice in a row in my online franchise. Ive seen records of this happening on the forums since todays patch. Defender pursuit angles still lack while running away from o-line. Break Tackles seemed to hav increased alot.

All in all, good patch but hopefully 2nd patch fixes the rest. Even tho i dont understand why we would hav to w8 months for the game to be worth $60.

What is going on? Keep having where my CB, Jonathan Joseph keeps being offsides on plays. Can't take control of him to even get him back manually. Gave up two in a row, a total of 4 on the drive. Pats are driving to tie or win, it just blew the game for me! Seen some good things so far, but this is not cool...

A great product sells itself, no "back of the box" features required! (See Fifa...)

I may need to see a larger sample, but I still see receivers only releasing inside the vast majority of the time, and my defender's reacting to flat, slants, and drags, sporadically at best.

On the plus side, my kickoff coverage seems better, the run blocking is noticeably more logical, fatigue is better, and I am able to control my DL's better.

Gonna brief, I loved the game before patch and it feels even more refined after the patch. This year I have ignored all gripe threads (mostly every thread) to find my own gripes; happy to say I have nothing that stands out. Love the game this year.

I actually saw a d-lineman (Ratliff) get injured. Only for a qtr but first time I seen a injury on d/o line.

I'm a realism nut. And for my limited stick-skills, the game's playing great for me after the patch with:
                      • 13-minute Q's, 15 second runoff (I eat a lot of clock b/c I make a ton of pre-snap adjustments)
                      • All-Pro default for HUM and CPU
                      • Slight special teams tweaks (punt accuracy increase)
                      • Slight sub in/out tweaks (to account for new, good fatigue)
                      • Maxed-out penalties (except holding, clipping)
NOTE -- NOT turning this into a slider conversation...just sharing my general setup. Now -- impressions.

PERHAPS there's a few too many INTs and penalties and too many CPU sacks....watching this closely. But with my NYG franchise, the game is otherwise playing very realistic, very fun. Jacobs is a beast, but is suitably contained against teams that can stop the run. Eli throws fairly inaccurately from time to time (sad, but accurate). I'm getting sacks and creating pressure with Osi and Tuck by flicking the right stick.

It's not perfect, but it's a videogame so I'm not stressed out about it. For me, it's a vast improvement with the patch. I hope patch #2 comes soon so I can start my "official franchise."

Good stuff, EA. (Don't fret about sales, you're on the right path by reaching out to the core enthusiasts...economy and last year's clunker is probably the main contributors.)

                        I noticed:

                        7 min. quarters online: AWESOME!

                        Improved pursuit: AWESOME

Improved run game - less chaotic... smoother.

                        Sideline animations: AWESOME!

I think there's one word that describes the game this year... you can guess what I'd say.

Honestly M10 has so many things I've always wanted in a football game. I got way more than I bargained for this year. They really nailed my wants as a consumer.

Yes, true. But earlier in the thread someone posted that all incomplete passes stopped the clock. I was just going to post to inform them that it indeed has not been fixed.

I have given EA/Tiburon grief, which they have deserved, so I will pay them a compliment, when deserved.

There is definitely a noticeable improvement in Blocking since the patch. It isn't perfect still, but a big improvement from the mess it was before. Outside runs actually have blocking now lol. Blockers now do not turn around and block people behind the play and leave you in the lurch anywhere near as much as before, but it does still happen.

One thing though. The blocking is improved, but the way in that it is accomplished is a little weird. It seems like on outside runs, the O-Line gets an unnatural speed burst, a la the receivers speed burst to make a catch, to get the outside positioning. It also seems like the game pretty much just gives the blockers the outside block, even if they are positioned to the inside.

I guess you can't complain too much because it works, but I am a little suspect about its implementation. It is a patch though, and not a new game, so maybe this was the quickest and best way that they could handle it in the short term. From a purely aesthetic standpoint however, it does not look very organic and I hope that they can find a better way to do this on subsequent Madden's, so that the outcome looks more aligned with what precipitates it visually on screen.

The pursuit angles were not fixed though and the breaking tackles, if they were tweaked, it is not apparent. It happens just as much as ever.

As for the broadcast cam, maybe someone can tell me if I am wrong, because I only tried it once in Practice, but is the broadcast cam still vertically oriented? If so, that is very disappointing as a real broadcast has a horizontal field view orientation. Please let me know if I am mistaken and if it is horizontal in an actual game or if there is something else that I need to adjust to get it that way or if it is in fact a standard vertically oriented view that is just pulled back further.

Overall, I am pretty pleased with the patch.

Was the patch supposed to address replays being cut off, starting too late, on long TD plays? It's still happening post patch. On long runs or passes the beginning, where most of the avoiding tackles and what not happens, is cut off. The replays start late.

Thats funny because most of the problems other games suffer from that need patched are cosmetic or an issue with online play. Madden needs Patched every single year. I'm talking Patches for gameplay, graphics, online play, and animations.

Well, I guess your right. We should stop complaining, and thank EA for this great game, or should they be thanking us? We don't get the game fixed until two months after release. How long does it usually take for other companies like Bungie or Bethesda to come out with patches? You know what? I think it is well within our rights ($60.00) to have an issue with this in a time where they have had 5 yrs to get this game going in the right direction.
