2k Needs to Establish the difference between older and younger players
Kobe's rating in this game is 97. True enough, he is a top 3 player in the league. However, because of his high rating, there is nothing to discourage the user from attacking with Kobe every chance they get. Kobe is 31 now. There's a reason he doesn't attack like he used to, and it's age. Tim Duncan is 33, but there is nothing preventing a user from feeding it to Duncan EVERY possession. Maybe make it so older players have a lower durability rating and lower stamina. I don't really know the solution, so I wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were about this.Tags: None -

Re: 2k Needs to Establish the difference between older and younger players
should be able to play an older guy in association for 40 min occasionally. penalty should work with ongoing fatigue in the season. if the team has a back-to-back, or heavy week of games, old guy should take a huge hit in fatigue in the second /third,fourth game. also recovery rate for old guys should be real slow compared to the 20 yr old guys. injury risk should go up if old guy plays too many minutes.
fatigue management for those older teams/players should be a big part of a season in order to have all your guys ready to play in the post-season.
post-season penalties should be reduced because it is a loooong post-season and even old guys bring it and are ready to play big minutesComment

i don't think 2k should limit this because what someone does in their association hurts no one else and they should be able to do what they want. if they want to play kobe 48 min a game, let themshould be able to play an older guy in association for 40 min occasionally. penalty should work with ongoing fatigue in the season. if the team has a back-to-back, or heavy week of games, old guy should take a huge hit in fatigue in the second /third,fourth game. also recovery rate for old guys should be real slow compared to the 20 yr old guys. injury risk should go up if old guy plays too many minutes.

You make a good point, but using Kobe is a bad example as he did average 40 MPG during the playoffs this year.Comment

options are good, agreed. i think they called it "progressive fatigue" and i think it is an option whether you want it or not. been awhile since i played 2k9 assoc.Comment

Re: 2k Needs to Establish the difference between older and younger players
Cant speak on the default rosters but this was in 2k9....I simmed a 15 year carreer with a player Ive edited from a draft class...Ive watched his stamina, speed, dunk, inj, etc all decline...AND its wasnt minor...he had 36 year old athleticism...Comment

Re: 2k Needs to Establish the difference between older and younger players
The main point has nothing to do with Association or Fatigue. It's moreso how older players don't play the same as when they are younger. Kobe gets injured more than he did when he was younger. Even a durable players like KG and Ben Wallace got the injury bug once they surpassed 30.
They change the way they play as well as less minutes to avoid these injuries.Last edited by Po Pimp; 09-27-2009, 07:02 PM.Comment

Re: 2k Needs to Establish the difference between older and younger players
Users are going to Kobe how they want too (attacking the basket) but hopfully with the impoved A.I the defence will actully help, rather just stant around (by the looks of it they help). Really the only other thing they coulf do (for 2k11) would be to add more tendencies like "layups in traific & Dunk in trafic" kobe should have a very high Layup in trafic rating but his dunk in trifc should be low. other then that im not sure how they could do it by the way Kobe played 40 min a game IRL the only ratings thats should go down year by year is his quickness.Comment
