Have you ever signed a free agent just to trade him away?

lol I feel so cheap everytime I do this. But sometimes there's a player that I want but there aren't many players on my team that I want to give away, so I'll sign a good free agent like Chris McAlister and then trade him away just to get that player that I wanted. Pretty cheap IMO but I just can't help it sometimes. haha. Anyone done this before?

Yes I do it but not to rip off teams, I do it because 3-4 teams have guys that are 6-0 and 245 lbs starting at DE.So I give them real 3-4 DEs and move those players to OLB, most of the time I make sure I give them 2 players and do it for their 7th rounder than I just trade back their 7th rounder for 1 of the players that I originally traded them.

hahahaha I take back my "no I don't cheat in offline franchise" because I used to do this when I would assemble my Texas Tech all stars teams. Zach Thomas was always too hard to acquire without trading all of your high draft picks.

          Cheap but funny. Ah memories

I used to do it to rack up top 10 picks.

It isn't cheesing. It's cheap. Big difference there.

Yeah I occasionally flip guys. Do I care if it is cheap? No...the game is cheap so wtf would I give a crap?

Until they actually make a game that plays strictly based on ratings and not this cpu bias crap (as in how cpu pass blocking is far superior to user blocking) I have no issues doing stuff like this.

Professional sports flip players constantly. Not often is it a free agent but they do it with trades. You find a player that another team wants, trade for that player and then send that player to another team for the player you want....i don't think it's cheap at all. The only thing is that the trading system in madden doesn't work well and you can get top 10 pick for it....

Absolutely. Back in the day, it was all about signing linebackers, moving them to DE and getting Peyton Manning. Now not so much (whistling)

I have not done this I haven't this, I usually end up trading someone and regret it later.
                          Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

my friend use to do this alot. i do it sometimes, but its usually not worth it. i wouldnt really call it cheesing since ur just playing by ur self, but it is unrealistic or not "sim". it doesnt happen in nfl, but it does in the nba.

Yep I guess you can call it cheesing, i'll never do this because I hate salary cap penalties that you receive the next year for doing it. I don't know if you guys have noticed, but on Madden 10 when you make trades the cap penalty section always say 0, but next year, oh yeah, you'll see the cap penalty eating up your cap room
