And you don't feel that this game should need patches. So do you feel the same about other titles that receive patches, that they shouldn't "need" them?
You can return a TV. Once you open a video game I dont think you can return it.

Take the game to the store, tell them that its not working properly and that you would like to return it.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

We don't have the patch details, because it's not approved. I choose to not talk about anything until I see it in the game with my own eyes. There are numerous things that I think are going in that might not due to the deadline, and if that happens I end up being the goat. Not gonna happen.

And keeping the community in the loop on a rough timeline is now "hyping"?

        Confused.

How about that Online Franchise patch with Salary Cap and Trade Logic.................................

The game is fine to me, all I ever cared about was Online Franchise. I don't sit around waiting for the "perfect game" because I know It ain't going to happen, but I need that Online Franchise baby.

It seems I'm in the minority, or it might just be all of the Madden hate on here, but I'm having fun with Madden RIGHT NOW. A patch will be cool, if it fixes stuff but at this point I don't really mind at all.

Patches are the greatest thing to ever happen to console games. The only negative is a delay in how long it takes to get the "finished" product. I think you anti-patch people don't know how good it is these days.

                Confused.

I think it's just the annoucement of a future annoucement thing. From my experience it's just something everyone does. Today we are announcing that next week we will annouce this or that. Or stay tuned for a big annoucement regarding this game.

Whether it's hype or not, I guess only because your current annoucement is making people wait in anticipation for what will be announced in the second annoucement, which I guess is hype; providing people with something that will make them hold on to their seats in anticipation of something else.

I guess the only way to avoid this is to just 100% wait until you are ready to release the data before mentioning anything at all, but then you risk people insinuating that you are MIA and leaving us with out info...so it's basically a lose - lose situation for you. Not very fair and I feel your pain.

However, you say there are numerous things that you think will make it in, but could fall off at the last instant if they run out of time...what about the things you are 100% sure about, can you divulge any ot that? Of course, if you let out one thing, you will receive 100 questions on every other thing and people will insinuate that since you didn't mention something it's not in.

Finally, and maybe I'm just ignorant on the subject, which I probably am, but if things are so close that they may or may not make it because of the deadline, can't you just push the deadline back a little to make them fit? I would think everyone would be OK with waiting an extra few days if they knew it was going to be better? Obviously if it's several weeks or months, that is one thign, but from what I took from your statement, it seems like somethings are very close or so close that they could hit or miss the deadline.

Just as EA has a right to develope the game in the manor the chose people who "buy" or simply play the game have a right to critique the game.

I also agree that the product wont change until sales is effected bottom line.

Now the real question is based on sales the game is fine...business is about numbers and the numbers say the game is good.

As for die hard fans of football who play madden at this point because its the only game in town, well the choice is quite or except IMO there are to many people buying the game that dont really appreciate football(the small detail of physics or actual AI<that we have experienced in other football titles> ) for many buying the game they are content getting an NFL liscense game that has their favorite team along with somewhat cool graphics and online play and so forth.

The pure simulator the gammer who wants have a sim experience is now I feel the minority consumer and thus when EA dev. Madden they sim experience isnt the focus....oh sure thats perhaps why whe have a broken slider system so Madden can attempt to offer a 2 in 1 game arcade to the majority consumer and with the sliders, speed threshold, game speed and so on they offer an oppurtunity to adjust and set the game for those looking for a sim game.

As we know it doesnt work, so the reality is except or reject...ofcourse the dark horse is the excuslive NFL liscense being removed but I think thats a happy marrige and wouldnt count on that.

I have become so frustrated that I am to the point where I very rarely play the game I will have a fun qrt and by the end of the game disappointed with all the crappy play and high scores and so forth, plus getting older and realizing that I have a right to expect more for what I pay for.

                  Good luck thanks

It used to be that way. Now that all games are on disc, most places dont give a refund. I had a game once that didn't load when I bought it and the only option was to return it for the same game. I think most store policies are like that now.

What a horrible way to develop a product! I mean what will there be; five or six weeks of the NFL season completed by the time Madden 10 has officially fixed it's "known" problems? Problems that were mostly found by consumers, not their QA department? I'm sorry, that's just not right!
You're right. Patches suck. I far prefer them to discover problems after the product is released, and do absolutely nothing about it like in the NES/SNES/64/PS day. Screw trying to fix things up based on consumer feedback.

I like the game without the first patch, normal speed, accelerated clock off myself.

You're brave to come to these boards with all these wolves here. Yes I empathize with both sides, but it appears you're in a no win situation here Ian. Good luck, and kudos to you and your team for the vast improvements I've personally seen in the Madden franchise this year.

This would be Not hyping, but informing
"We are wrapping up the 2nd title update for Madden 10. Look for a list of stuff next week."

Using words like this can be interpreted as hyping.
"lots of good improvements, additions, fixes. "
