Madden needs to fix the pass coverage of the defense. Anyone on the defense can have their back to the ball when it is thrown and always have the instincts to turn around before the receiver even knows it is coming in this game. This isn't real. Get it out of the game. Anyone in Madden can jump up high in the air and snag the ball for an INT. This isn't real either.

This happens too many times with one hand by anyone, and they can make it happen by going in one direction and stopping in a dead heat only to reach right back for the ball. This is way to arcade like, not simulation. There is not a good separation between the receiver and defensive backs or whoever is covering them. Not enough pass interference is called; my receivers will try to get by only to be bumped constantly and the ball goes right by them, but no penalties are called!

It is really annoying when getting passed a defender only to have them make a turn in the other direction and get suctioned over to my player for the tackle. Don't see that on Sundays. The turning seems to be very difficult and not fluent especially when doing screen passes. Fix this EA!

I just want to see the list of fixes for patch 2. I don't have the game but if patch 2 can fix certain things i'll give it another rent.

Any Idea when the details of patch 2 is going to be released?

As far as saying what is wrong about the game and what is right. That is played out already. Everything that was needed to be said for both arguments has been said already.

Right now we are at a different phase.
If you like the game wait for patch 2 and enjoy the game even more.

If your on the fence and are waiting for patch 2 , just wait and see what happens after u install the patch.

If you totally hate the game, just move on cause trust me we have been heard and have made extremely valid points, and all we can really do is leave Madden alone all together or see what happens with Madden 11.

I'm in the category of hating the game, but after a while hearing the same beef over and over gets tired.

Why can't they release the details NOW? I admit that I don't know all the legalities of it, but you would think that EA could release the info for patch #2 right now if they're close to sending it off for approval. I readily admit that I'm ignorant on this subject but common sense tells me that the patch details should have already been dropped.

I have currently given up on Madden... Meaning I've been disappointed with it since 2008 and have not bought it since. I've rented it, read the boards, reviews, etc... and it still seems that they are unable to release a good football game. I do like NCAA but have kind of boycotted EA for the past two years... I used to buy every single EA release (Madden, Live, NCAA Football and Basketball, Tiger Woods, etc) but have not given them a dime in two years. I'm waiting to see what patch 2 does and what the consumer response will be. Even then, I probably won't buy Madden 10, but I am hoping Madden 11 is worth a purchase.

I'm not holding my breath.

If you follow the same time line as the first patch, it spent just over two weeks getting approved.

Patch two hasn't been submitted yet and they already claimed they can do noting to expiate the process once its submitted.

Unless we just got lied too about the first patch process or Ian just lied on Twitter about the status of patch two. I could easily see early November before we can get it.

Personally I love this game! I haven't played Madden for several years because I thought it was crap, but I thought this game was great.
Admittedly I haven't played it much as of late, but that's because I'm playing the hell out of NHL 10!

I Personally love this game as well. Everygame comes down to the wire for me, I play on All-Madden. Before the patch it was damn near impossible to play, i just got frustrated with the amount of fumbles and dropped passes. Since Patch 1 came out, I can actually run the ball, and its really entertaining to play. I think its awesome, cant wait to see the other improvements coming out with patch 2. I really wish we can get some field degradation, has anyone even noticed this at all? I have yet to see sloppy games in the rain, or players jerseys gettin dirty, NCAA 10 has it, why not madden?

I started a franchise last night - first time with Patch #1.

Played the first half of game 1 ok, then the game decided to freeze after a cut-scene of my team walking into the lockeroom.

I had to boot back to the Xbox Dashboard and restart the game. Lost the Franchise.

I didn't even bother going back to try it again.

I give up. I'm trading this game in for CoD: Modern Warfare 2.

I have ESPN 2K5 with updated rosters and that'll continue to be my NFL game of choice because EA can't do anything right it seems.

Adios Madden. I gave you ANOTHER chance and you failed again.

i think i may be too deep into nba live to care about patch #2. here's to hoping that the Madden team makes as far a leap forward next year that Live did this year. i like this years madden, but i'm just tired of watching my lineman play matador to LB and defensive ends every other play.

I started a franchise last night - first time with Patch #1.

Played the first half of game 1 ok, then the game decided to freeze after a cut-scene of my team walking into the lockeroom.

I had to boot back to the Xbox Dashboard and restart the game. Lost the Franchise.

This is one of three things I want (hope?) to see addressed in the announcement of this week's list of patch issues addressed. My three are:

1. I have had four freezes where i try to press the X button to skip the halftime show. Tried four times, froze four times. Luckily, just lost the game but it is still the equivilant of 2 games of wasted time in franchise mode. Now I just sit through the half time show which is pretty boring and repetitive. EA, wish you would have filmed those broadcasters a little more. The guy says the same thing EVERY halftime show and both say the same thing EVERY Extra Point show.

2. When I throw the ball to a WR who is a good 6-7 steps from a defender, the pass goes right to the defender for an INT. Feet set, high accuracy QB? Doesn't matter. These cheap INTs that seem scripted really detract from the game.

3. CPU QBs throwing the ball away right before the sack. This happens multiple times in a game. For example, with the CB Blitz and really fast corners I have only gotten 3 sacks in 8 games but have tackled the QB just as he throws 5-10 times per game. And it always comes from the blind side so it is not like the QB can even see my guy. And to make it worse, when the few times I do hit him and cause the lame duck throw, it usually ends up still going to a WR 10 yards down the field for a 1st down. VERY FRUSTRATING!

Now I just hope the patch lives up to all our expectations. My three issues are really forcing me to stick with the game until the patch just in case but they really make it hard to enjoy the game.

Wow, that sucks. I have had several franchises running pre and post patch.

Never seen a game freeze, ever, in game or out of game.

Not until it's been approved by MS/Sony, and it's not at that stage, yet.
