You already have a three week head start on us over here, and now you are turning to tutorials on top of that? We may never recover.

He said the "driven" button, which would be LB on 360, to make it a more powerful shot with less curl.

Actually being able to shoot over/around the wall with a properly positioned keeper in practice mode is going to be so helpful. I'll have to spend some time doing this and working on some created plays for corners and indirect FKs before the Champions League...

Good idea. Now if only someone around here could do that... oh wait.

Okay, that was going to be my question too. The manual refers to a "finesse" or "placed" shot (RB, maybe?), which I assume is a softer, more accurate shot.

"Driven", then, is harder, but less curl. He seemed to only use that in the video when shooting under the wall from closer range, or when he did that unconventional bend (to the right for right-footers) on the 40+ yarder.

To be clear, up on the L stick while charging applies topspin (which makes the ball go down), but to put additional curve, you move the L stick diagonally in the direction you want it to go. Right?

The videos are great, I don't think I fully realized that a normal shot with top spin is going to have a natural right-to-left curl on it anyway...good to know.

i am not sure about this. i know that is for penalty kicks. but i think that for free kicks, a placed shot is simply not using the driven button.

I was just laughing at his accent and how he said shoot.

This is sweet. I'll have to practice in the arena. I've always sucked at free kicks.

Me too. I've been dreadful at free kicks for a couple of years now. Don't recall scoring a single one.

Can't wait to try these out in practice mode this evening.
