I seriously can't take it anymore
On superstar, I don't wtf is going on. Almost every time i get a one goal lead, the cpu manages to get a soft bs goal. Not a momentum boost goal, but just a soft crappy goal. Almost every time, I would like an official explanation? Does my goalie get a serious ratings drop after I get a lead? And yes, I have the cpu difficulty slider at 0Get "Real" EA SportsTags: None -

Re: I seriously can't take it anymore
Having the Goalie Reaction Speed at 2 I noticed There Are ALOT Of Soft Goals. It Pissed Me Off As Well, So I Put It At 3. Yeah, It May Cut Down The Amount Of Clean Goals, But It Greatly Reduces The Soft Goals As Well. I'll Take The Latter.Comment

Re: I seriously can't take it anymore
I've played countless games and have yet to see a really soft goal, seen a few weak ones, but then again Osgood is my goalie most of the time. Playing on SS using slightly tweaked version of Lord's sliders with my own custom rosters(edited every single player).Last edited by ClarkKent; 10-26-2009, 05:08 PM.Comment

Re: I seriously can't take it anymore
I had an infuriating game last night on SS where my offense was just on fire... but EVERY time I scored the CPU would come right back. A few were soft goals, and sometimes they just went lift stick crazy in my end and there was little I could do to stop them.
The frusting thing was it seemed like whenever the game was tied I would control play, but then as soon as I took the lead they were all over me. I ended up winning 7-6 in OT (crazy I know), and as exciting as the game should have been I just found the whole thing really frustrating.
Granted this doesn't seem to happen to me every game like some state, but games like this are too frequent and really suck the fun out of things.LET'S GO FLYERS, YANKEES, DOLPHINS!!!Comment

Stop playing Superstar??
No harm in jumping down and adjusting sliders to make the game play more "fair" or "realistic" for you.

Re: I seriously can't take it anymore
I actually had a really good game last night.
I dropped down to Pro(from All-Star)....adjusted some of the settings and played Flyers vs. Canes.(the first game of the season.
I actually got a soft goal from Pronger in on Ward. I watched the replay...and have no idea how it went in...but whatever...
I was up 3-2 and they scored late to tie it...but it was actually my fault(for once!
)
The right D man chased the center to the boards and I went to change players and changed to the left D man. I then abandoned the front of the net(not realizing I had control of the left D) and left the winger wide open in front. Nice pass....great shot and it was tied.
I lost it in the shootout.
I still think the defensmen need to be worked. Big time.
One thing I think is really missing is icing. I would say I get two or three a game and they are usually all mine.

Re: I seriously can't take it anymore
I stared out on Pro & All-Star, but the main problem was I kept out shooting the CPU by a wide margin with whatever sliders I tried. Plus I felt it was too easy to skate and pass around in their zone during even strength play.
I've only had time to play maybe 3 or 4 games a week lately, so unfortunately I don't have time to mess around with sliders. I've been using an older version of Lord's sliders and having fun, I just wish there was a way to tone down the "crazy CPU offense mode"... since we all know there is no such thing as comeback code!

Re: I seriously can't take it anymore
Drop your pass accuracy slider and you'll see more icings. Also my pass speeds are high too so the combo of the quicker pass, plus lower accuracy lead to more pucks missing the mark and going for icing.I actually had a really good game last night.

Re: I seriously can't take it anymore
Thanks...I'll give it a try.
I have played a couple of more games since my post...and both are post patch.
I don't know if it's the newest tuner or the patch...but there seems to be a bit more separation with my faster players. Perhaps it's the opponents(New Jersey-Washington)...
Dropping down to Pro has definitely improved my play. I'm not running around as much...I can actually settle into both an offense and defense and that's nice.
There are still times where the play will shift to my opponent, so it's not like I'm dominating play at all times.
I would prefer All-Star at least...because on Pro, I feel like I have to hold myself back a bit...but it's all good.
Loving:
Five minute majors and game misconducts.
(are double minors in as well?)
The injuries are handled well IMO.
There are some really nice animations during games....picking the puck out of the air...kicking the puck...
The board play is very good.
