Thanks guys for the replies on the overlays. I don't want them to go away too quickly.

Any advice on getting the demo to download faster? I've never really had an issue but after an hour it's at 7%.

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360)

Alright I palyed a few games here's a quick impression:

Motion offense is outstanding in the game.....i like the way the coach appears and calls out instuctions or gives praise for a play....

I played on All american i thought the defense played well its's really hard to drive to the lanes so alot of midrange jumpshots will be needed.....the crowed is good but i played as Duke at home and their were no boo's when the hated NC had the ball and even made shots.....

Their are alot of hiccups in the game on offense and defense i counted around 9 for me in a 5min period ( a big concern so far)........
Commentary was tight and the overlays were like maddens really quick at times.....

I had no layups but did get in the lane for a short jumper..(concerned a little)

Intergration with CBS will be welcome especially around tourney time......uhh let's see what else?

To me the game is guard heavy and what i mean is your point and shooting guards will be the key to winning and losing...

oh yes I forgot this one Great I mean Great hustle plays by the computer and my own players during loose balls close to out of bounds....

So far good game but the hiccups are annoying like they were in live 10...

        Thats all for now......

What I mean is that the CPU ball handler doesn't have his name under him when he dribbles. The USER does but not the CPU. Not a big deal for me, but it is for many. Hopefully this could be addressed in a patch.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

            It's very much like Live.

Love the atmosphere and overlays, but the crowd noise that happens while you play sounds like a really bad loop.

I hope the overlays are just placeholders like has been said, because I saw Michigan 10-22 ranked 22nd in the country. GA Tech was 15-17 ranked 12th.

A game that I wanted, that went to passing to now maybe wanting. May trade in Live for this as it has more depth.

This is what I'm thinking. Still not sure yet, should be interesting.

So no names under CPU player, quite frankly that is sad. This is not double freaking dribble, come on EA. I guess we can wonder who has the ball? Can we sticky a petition to have this in the first patch?

Game is pretty fun. I've only played the Live demo but it is similar to that without the problems. Motion offense is nice, all the features that carried over from Live are good too. Also, I remember reading that in Live the CPU doesn't call timeouts? Well they do in this game. I went on a 9-0 run against Duke to open the game and they crossed half court and called timeout. They also called timeout when the game was tied 4-4.

I'll be renting this for sure. Not buying yet because I've started to rent every sports game before buying (I'm sure everyone knows why) and it doesn't seem like they've done much to Dynasty since there hasn't been any news on it and the new features listed in the demo say nothing about Dynasty either.

You sound just like me, I once got a demo to 20% in 5 or 6 hours before giving up on it. I've never found anything to speed it up either. I'm guessing it has to do with the internet service I get(although I have no idea what it is, other than it's not dial up).

Yeah it's going on 3 hours and last time I checked it was like at 14%. I have a wireless adapter. Maybe I should move the Xbox to the other room and hook it up directly to the router.

This just seems so basic I cant believe they left it out. Why? Its not hard to program I'm sure because its been in piratically every other sports game, and they got a lot of criticism on it last year. Upsetting that such an easy fix was left out, that you think would be a given when you buy a sports game.

Liking the gameplay, mostly. Hate the cameras. I play on Baseline High on Live and all they really have is Floor, which offers no depth perception and Overhead which is waaaay too zoomed out. If they don't offer zoom options in final, I'm not doing it. Sad too, Presentation is top notch.

A great product sells itself, no "back of the box" features required! (See Fifa...)

                                My thoughts on the demo

                                THE GOOD:

                                1. The motion offense is great, works well
                                2. The gameplay is improved greatly as expected
                                3. Smoother menus and more camera angles, but it seems lacking( the cameras)
                                4. It is harder to score which is great
                                5. New passing is a plus just like live
                                6. There are more offensive rebounds
                                7. Made basket annimations and misses are better
                                8. Better collision animations
                                9. "Sucktion" appears gone from fast breaks

                                THE BAD:

                                1. The crowd seems to be unaware of changes in gameplay and momentum at times, i.e. getting louder when the home team has the ball, not cheering after a made basket, getting very loud for 5 seconds and after a positive play by the home team becoming quiet- this was not put together with alot of thought its as simple as that.

                                2. I did not see any player stats wipes such as pts scored in 3 games I played, they have the fictional major but no update for individual player stats.

                                3. Yep its unbelieveable, no player name under the cpu- that is an epic fail, and worthy of a no purchase for me, just my opinion.

                                4. Every player seems to have the same dribbling ability

                                5. The players body sizes are NBA type at least thats how they appear when unedited

                                6. So UNC has a bunch of players rated in the low 80s, whats this mean for the ratings?

They had better have done something with dynasty because as good as the presentation is it will get old trust me.
