they are on the right track if you had madden 09 and madden 10 together they would be on the oposite ends of the spectrum madden 10 by far is there greatest release. does it need work yes but from a replay standpoint alone it is worth the purchase. they added alot of features in a 1 year cycle in all fairness you need 2 years to make a decent product it is not easy to add feature and to make sure they work right. i expect madden 11 to be even greater with new running animations and all the features from 10 bug free.

and then we will be complaining about the new stuff lol

I don't have the cover flats problem. My scheme is take a way the flats and let them take their chances down the field. I play cover 3 press and cover 2 soft (indicated by yellow) and cover 2 press (indicated by blue) to take away the flats. I use mostly 3-4 and I spread my lbs.

There is a problem with alignment in man coverage. Sometime when I play cover 1 man my defenders are too far away from the players they are covering. I manually place my men in better position to cover backs.

Also some lbs don't have the speed to cover backs in the flat and substitutions are needed if you are going to play play.

Last but not least the pursuit angles show up time to time.

Still no word on the second patch? I would have thought we would have heard something, especially with today's release of COD6, one of the most anticipated games of the year.

I don't see what other word there could be. We recently got word it was in certification for MS and Sony. Once that happens it's usually pretty dark until release or maybe a few days prior if someone gets word that it's good to go.

I'm also not sure what the new COD game has to do with it. Patches aren't timed against other releases.

I would highly doubt it will be an issue. I don't think I've ever seen that be the case unless there was something within the older roster causing the issues. We (and I say we, because I'm kinda in the same boat...lol) should be fine.

well, perfect time to take a break from madden. ill be busy with CODMW2 for the next couple of wks anyways. no patch, ok fine, ill pause my great franchise right where im at, midseason so that hopefully for the last half, the most important time of the season, things go much smoother with the new implementations with the pathc

What kills me more than anything, is you see a FULL detailed list of patches for other games, even the new basketball games that released, yet they won't fully tell us the whole list of stuff they are fixing in this patch. if its in certification right now, then obviously what they are patching is finished, so why not give us the details? I am willing to bet that the patch hardly fixes anything, and its more mental than anything "woo I got the new patch, it fixed all of the problems" and then after we play for a while, nothing has really changed. If it was anything groundbreaking, they would be giving us a full detailed list and hyping us up for the release. They gotta know that they have lost alot of avid madden gamer's because of the bugs, so if they was in the least worried about getting their fans back on board, they would have been blowing up pages with full lists and hyping it up. I bet its a dud. I hope I am proved wrong though. I can't tell you how annoying it is when I am playing a game with my cowboys, and its talking about the bengals or the bears. WTF?

Peeps inpatience with patches, Madden patches in particular, trip me out lol.

Madden 08 was the first next gen Madden I played and I recall the 2nd patch taking quite a bit of time to be released. And that game was severely broken. Fast forward to today...why is there so much surprise and angst with the delay and lack of information? Shouldn't we all know the drill by now? If you absolutely hate M10 in its current state, will a couple tweaks and fixes completely change your outlook on the game?

Patch will not take effect on previously started franchises so ya may as well finish that franchise you have going .... or plan on restarting it to have new patch improvements implemented.

Absolutely! My theory is all the pieces are in place for this game to be great, it just needs a little tweaking to get it there. Pursuit angles, AI boost, that's really all I need to give this game a 10/10 (right now it's a solid 8/10). And maybe work on the franchise stats, I haven't started mine yet but I've heard it's a little off. Those are 3 simple fixes and I have no doubt EA can easily nail them down, I think the reason there's no extra news on the patch coming out is they have added some more stuff to make it even better, kind of a surprise.

With all that said, I think Madden is now a November purchase for me from now on, the waiting for patches has gotten to be a bit repetitive.

I hope your right and I agree with much of what you stated. This game is very close to being a solid game imo, however it's truly pathetic that it will be three months into the season before we get these fixes! Really puts a damper on football gaming for me having to wait this long for a polished version of a game I bought three months ago!

From now on I'm thinking October will be the earliest I ever purchase this game. That should be after patch #1 is released, and it gives you enough time to mess with sliders and get ready for patch #2?

Yeah, I'm not furious at EA like others are (perhaps rightfully so), waiting just drives me crazy and I think it'll just be easier to not have this game until at least one patch is already out. I am dying to start a franchise because I just today really feel like I nailed down my perfect slider set (except for AP just running for 200+ yards on me earlier, blaming it on pursuit angles though!), but can't because I really want the second patch on my franchise.

I guess a little more slider tweaking and trying out every team again won't kill me for the next week or so, I just feel like I've been playing a demo where part of the the game is still locked for the past few months.

Question: Is this patch definitely the last one for this game, or could there be another if something went wrong with this one? Like if this one ends up messing up stat displays like the last one did, could EA even make another or is there really a limit of two patches?

They could do a third patch, but they'd have to pay for it. NCAA this year had a third patch, but the way things are going they'd likely just put it in 11 rather than paying a fee to put it in 10.
