Yeah devs are taking advantage of patches way too much. I'm fine if they release a patch to fix some bugs here and there. Thats all good. But when its like NCAA Football, where there were glaring issues(progression, e.g.) and they came out with 3 patches, that is just ridiculous.

Hmmm...that's not good news for someone who didn't play '09.Last year they ran offenses very well too (not as team specific) but they didn't make any effort to get it to their scorers more and the high rated players didn't seem to do anything that different from lower rated guys.
If I play NCAA '10 and can't tell the difference between Greg Monroe and GTown's backup big man then I will probably be passing on this game.Comment

The big thing will be is if the "3PT likelihood" and "mid range likelihood" attributes are in from Live 10. If they're not then this game is probably going to be pretty bland.
If it's in then we should be okay, we'll just have a lot of editing to do most likely.Last edited by ehh; 11-11-2009, 06:17 PM."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Seems like if you try a jump with any little forward or backward momentum, you get the one, same fadeaway animation all the time. Needs to have more varied animations.Comment

Demo is very fun, but action is a bit fast and agree everything seems to run at 1.5x
Probably retail will have speed slider aswell.
Broadcast hud is very cool.
But i feel gameplay lot scripted and dull... Player defence is auto triggered by cpu, i gat so many defensive fouls and all are the same... My player will auto-block and make fault no matter why. Bit weird.
Same thing for contacts, most of them are scripted and since animation routine trigger up u can't do anything. Anyone feel this?
Altought i like in some way the simplicity approach of the demo... I have lot of fun.Comment

Yeah I agree. But at the same time, its a demo. Its hard to really know if this game is good or not since this is not a final version of the game. Hopefully the defense gets tightened up and it won't seem so scripted as you said.Demo is very fun, but action is a bit fast and agree everything seems to run at 1.5x

Anyway i like the demo. Huge improvement from last year. Have to say gameplay (like Live) give always tight games, unlike the other game
U wnt be left bashed ferociously by cpu, even on high level. And this is a good thing.
Maybe is less sim, more arcadeish approach... Cnt say.. But is very fun and enjoiable!Comment

At first, I wasn't a fan of the demo, but the more time I spend with it, the more I'm liking the game. It will probably be similar to Live in that there are going to be things (turnovers, contact animations) that are going to annoy you pre-patch, but once the patch is out, we should be golden.Currently Playing:

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360)
Based on some heavy demo playtime, Im coming to the conclusion that not only is the game very 'lite' on player distinctions and animations, but its gameplay engine is still very scripted feeling and shallow. There's just not that many variables that seem to be at play to determine the gameplay's output. Ball Physics and rebounding seems to be too over dependent on branching to it's limited pool of motion captured sequences rather than being a more physics based organic game.
It became so apparent after I popped in CH2K8 and was immediately immersed in a more diversified and dynamic game with a more abundant and more pleasing variation of player models that really looked like kids from all over the country and even a few that looked like they came from overseas.....I think Im in love all over again with a game thats over 2 years old.
Hopefully EA can get their act together when enough people provide useful feedbackComment
