    Right trigger I think

I guess what I was saying that well played defensive sometimes feels like its unnoticed by the game engine, hoping maybe it is because I am playing against Duke. I think alot basketball games fail to capture how hard it is to score, Many players have season long FG numbers of less than 45% in college.

I haven't played the full game of this series in years, but I expect the sliders to correct a lot of this. Did the sliders work last year?

The game does quite a few things better than 2K8 however there are three huge ones hanging in the balance...

        1) The CPU's ability to read your D and not be robotic all the time
        2) Individualism of players to help differentiate
        3) Human's D effectiveness on the CPU

2K8 has the demo beat in these three areas by a long shot. How many times in the demo will the CPU pass to the guy on the block and he'll just turn and shoot regardless? I'm playing 2K8 right now (Duke/UNC to keep the comparisons easier) and Singler caught the ball on the block, Hansbrough was D'ing him well, Singler pump-faked and then passed. In EA's basketball games they shoot it every time.

The individualism we'll have to wait for the retail to see how much we can edit. The D is also up in the air with edits.

Personally I think I'll get a good amount of enjoyment from NCAA '10 but I think you're crazy if you get rid of 2K8 or think this game will make you forget about 2K8 completely - and we're just talking game play here too. Like last year my game time will probably be a 60/40 split favoring 2K8 but we'll see how much we can edit and improve the retail of NCAA '10.

In my opinion the sliders did not work correctly or in some cases at all last year, i.e. offensive rebounds

            # 2 on this list concerns me the most, feels like the game engine was designed to have everybody be about the same in terms of athletic ability. This will make me go back to 2k8 if it is like this after our attempts to edit players. I hope that the jump rating works correctly, feels like EA has gone away from this type of thing.

This is also a demo and not the full game. I also would guess that this is not the final build of the game.
That was my initial reaction. I thought: 'whoa, this is actually really good.'

The more I played, though, and saw the same scenarios over and over (like zero offensive rebounds, ever) the game began to feel entirely too scripted for a sports title. I am holding off, with the understanding that demos are not usually a game's final build, but I'm also aware that some things aren't likely to change.

The presentation is top notch, though. I'm really pleased with the direction commentary/presentation in basketball titles has been taken in as of late.

Good presentation, although Gus and Bill dont talk too much. When I played they mainly only commented when I took a shot, or missed a shot.

Not enough fouls. I went through the whole first game and noticed I hadnt seen a foul the whole time. Finally the second game i forced a few, but only saw 1 free throw thru 3 games.

Kinda disappointed overall with the feel of the game

Played the demo on PS3. It was great, especially when Gus went "OH!!!"

Presentation is awesome, gameplay is much much better than last years.

CPU A.I is fine for me, they run fastbreaks, help defense is there its really great.

Motion offense is so simple and easy, a caveman can do it...

Im sold... I pre ordered the game already...

I think I'll regretfully give NCAA 10 a miss this year. Maybe next year will be the year I shelve CH2k8. Unfortunately I just didn't really enjoy playing the demo. I really wanted to but I don't know, just didn't like the feel of the game.

Most of the issues I had with the demo have already been mentioned by other people. Firstly, the game and player speed just seemed far too quick. I loaded up the NBA Live demo, which was reasonably good, & compared the game speed & it was like night & day. I would expect the college game to be slightly slower than the pro version of the game. The demo didn't actually play as well as Live's one, which really surprised me.

The lack of player differentiation was noticeable. I decided to play some games with Duke's bench to see if I could notice the difference and frankly, IMHO it was only marginal. I found that there wasn't much differentiation in skill sets between big men & wings.

Presentation was great as expected and I had no issues with commentary either. Only nitpick on presentation is that some of the CBS overlays didn't stay on screen long enough to read them all. But that can easily be fixed & may be so in the final retail version.

I do agree with ehh though that the game seems to play a lot better on Varsity difficulty level. I didn't enjoy play on higher difficulty levels despite being able to stick with CPU. It just didn't feel like a real college game to me. However on Varsity level it felt better & closer to the real thing.

I think once you get the retail version, hopefully some stuff is patched, you guys will make the necessary adjustments (speed, tendencies etc) to make the then game play pretty well & hopefully represent the college game. Unfortunately I just can't personally justify the expense of importing the game into Australia (probably equivalent all up of US$70-75) considering the demo didn't capture my imagination. It's a shame the import option is my only real avenue to play the game since you can't rent it over here.

Thanks to Country Boy in regards to heads up for getting demo on PS. Hope you guys enjoy the retail version. See you all next year

I'm still on the fence with this game. I can't get passed some of the areas ehh mentioned. It's def not a first day buy for me. I'lll wait on some impressions from you guys on Tuesday.

For me anyway, it would be hard to go from the gameplay of NBA 2k10 to this. The only reason I'm considering getting NCAA is I'm trying to look at it like a NBA game to a college game.

When Madden came out I stopped playing NCAA because they played the same game. Had the same engine and everything else. With this though it's truly like playing another bball game.

LOL...I just finished a game where the final was 2-0 me over the cpu. Nobody was making shots.

The more I get the hang of defense in this game/demo, the more that I'm enjoying it. Played another game that ended 5-4.

And I am absolutely loving the motion offense. Singlar just hit a buzzer beater on a replace the picker play. Beautiful to watch unfold and pull off.
