Is it fun? Yes.

Here's my advice...if you liked last year's game or if you liked the demo, then you'll most likely enjoy this year's game. The demo did a terrific job of letting you know what the final build would be like.

Anything else, didn't play last year, didn't like last year, didn't like the demo, I'd strongly suggest you rent the game before buying.

The game is good, the game is fun, but the game isn't perfect. It has some rough edges, some are sharper than others. There are going to be things that some people can overlook and while others can't.

Customization level, announcers use of the name database, AI tourney selection logic, animations, limited individuality of players, no cpu ballhandler identifier, are all things that are rough spots for the game, and there are probably others that people will find. People need to ask themselves how important each of these aspects of the game are to them, before dropping $60.

In the end, the game does a good job of capturing college basketball. It got me through last winter and I expect it will help me get through this winter as well.

The exclusion of real schedules (AGAIN!) kills any realism with this title.

Considering how quickly I tired of Live, and how much this sounds just like Live, I'm going to pass for now.

Just sounds like Live with college teams and better presentation. Not a bad thing per say, but not exactly what I want either.

Hey man, turns out there was an update yesterday. Not sure how much the rosters got affected by it. I noticed that 2 UK players went up and down 1 point each overall. You can also select the option to "download changes in appearance" which is something I didn't know EA was doing this year.

Update brought real authentic schedules too. So after the update...any Dynasty you start will in fact have the correct schedules. Sorry for misleading you a few days ago, but didn't know the update would fix it.

I have two questions, is there in-game injuries, unlike in nba live 10? Another is in dynasty, can your coach change teams during the offseason or your stuck with the same team??

haven't seen an in-game injury yet. And yes, you can change teams during dynasty mode ala NCAA Football.

the real schedules come out with a dynamic update according to their blog. Supposedly its released already, but I couldn't get it to download last night.

But this game does resemble Live an awful lot. It is a twin. Not identical, but it is a twin.

One thing that I want to point out in case people are wondering...outside of the sim logic being fixed and recruiting being tweaked, there have no changes to dynasty mode whatsoever, at least thats how it appears after simming 2 seasons.

The menus are still clunky, the scheduling is still whacky, and the pre-season tournaments only matter if you are playing in them. In other words, if you don't choose to play in any preseason tournament, then no preseason tournaments take place. If you choose to play in the Maui for example, its the only one thats being played.

Hopefully, I'm missing something in that regard, but I looked last night, and didn't see the other tournaments taking place, which was a problem I had last year.

mid-major issue? Are you referring to them being kept out of the NCAA tournament? Or is there a different issue?

Yeah, not making the tournament. I use a mid-major, so I'm concerned that if say I go 30-0, and lose the conference championship game, my entire season is for not. That's not right, especially if you schedule big schools as Bill's examples were earlier. If my RPI is say 12, and I go 27-3, I'm in the tournament, plain and simple. Especially over a 15-15 "BCS" school with no major wins and finishing 8th in a conference.

I so want to get this and want to like it, just nothing is screaming "Buy me" from any impressions. I appreciate you going out and giving us a ton of info, but you definitely helped me make up my mind.

Now the pre-season tournament thing you just posted, ugh. At least we know they haven't messed with dynasty mode in 3 years

I know that in real life, the committee does things like this, but not when teams are .500 or barely above and a mid-major has an outstanding year and a high RPI.

Yeah, I can live with teams being screwed over, happens every year. I can't live with teams right at .500 making it in. That doen't happen, and shouldn't. You may have an Arizona make it at 18-14 over a mid-major but it's because of who Zona played. If Zona played no one OOC and lost to UCLA/USC/whoever wins the conf in conference play and still made it, then I have issues.
