Gosh, I'm torn. I have NBA Live and love the player control scheme, animations (although limited), etc. But from what I'm reading this game just sounds unfinished aside from presentation.

I think this game will be good for what it is, but my selfish desire for "polish" leaves me wanting more!

I'm half tempted to download 2K8 default rosters and start editing (appearances, ratings, etc) away. It may be a ton of work, but might be the only way I'm satisfied. Decisions, decisions...

what do the top 20/25 toughest venues look like? Any low majors or mid majors? I realize it was voted on by fans (where? I dont know or hadnt seen or I wouldve pimped my school out on various forums), but how does that look?

any visible difference between a team that COULD be on the list, like a top 30 team that still has a loud venue and one that made the coveted list?

I read through many posts on this forum, but either I missed it, or it wasn't covered. Because I am going to be working on rosters, can anyone confirm that player names won't be reset when the weekly updates are downloaded?

i know exactly how you feel homie...im tired of live though and the cheesefest online so im gettin rid of it and gettin the ncaa, i found a spot that has it so imma go pick it up in an hr and sit here at work staring at it waiting till 4 (if only i could leave early today)

Thanks to countryboy and other who have given impressions, much appreciated! I wonder if you can edit ratings while inside dynasty mode? It appears the game really needs it, just hope we are able to do this once we have named rosters.

Still on the fence myself. I really like some of the gameplay elements, and held off on Live. I know the situation regarding the game, but even then am still really bothered by how incomplete it seems. Sigh. I guess I have the "other game" insurance policy just in case.

I doubt it. You haven't been able to do it in NCAA football ever. Once your in dynasty you're pretty much at the will of the CPU generated recruits.

If they release a Tournament Edition of this game like they did this past March, and you don't buy the retail copy, I'd think the TE would be a no-brainer to buy, at less than 20 bucks (considering the retail copy's price doesn't go lower than that at that time).

All the CBS Tourney presentation around tourney time really would get me pumped up to have fun - that's all that matters in the end.

Wasn't that TE thing only available on 360 last year?

Bottom line, to anyone that has the game, is it worth shelling out $60 for? Even $40 with trading Live in? I'm very undecided.

Ave you noticed the step back 3 problem like Live?

Wondering who college equivalent of Jameer Nelson and Mo Williams are? Lol...probably Ravern Johnson, Willie Warren, Jon Scheyer, and Sherron Collins. Heck maybe Wall if they made him 91 3pt rating!?!?!

depends on each individual and their preferences. There are rough spots in the game that some can overlook and others can't.

If you're undecided, I'd highly recommend renting the game. About the only way I'd say to someone that its worth $60 is if they enjoyed last year's game despite its shortcomings.

I don't seem to see Notre Dame in the Top 25 rankings this year?

I'm not sure on my purchase yet. CB did a great job of filling us in with some impressions but I'm gonna wait to hear a few more and try to rent it first. Too bad someone made the switch to the evil side.
