Portis retiers 53 yards short of Emmitt's record lol
So in 2017 Clinton Portis on the 49ers enters the season needing 210 yards to pass Emmitt for the all-time record.
I decided to play the third game when he was around 95 yards away from breaking it. The team also has Brady (first year in SF), Julio Jones, Crabtree, Vernon Davis, Pat Willis, and a few stud generated players. Good team.
So anyway It's early in the 2nd quarter and Gore has around 49 yards or so. I hand the ball off and he takes it up the middle for a minimal game, but eh stays down. He walks off under his own power, but he ends up having a broken collarbone, out for the season.
He was 36 when this happened and retired at the end of the season 53 yards shy of Emmitt's record.
