      Re: Umaga Dead

      Torch pulled it.

He is in bad shape according to Meltzer.

Edward Fatu, 36, is hospitalized in Houston and in what was described as life threatening condition by a long-time friend.
His family was told to come into town as quickly as possible.
Details are sketchy at this point but he apparently fell asleep last night while watching television, and several hours later, his wife found him not breathing with blood coming out of his nose and he was rushed to the hospital.
EDIT: OK, now he's dead. RIP.

RIP, a total tragedy. Painkillers are the main reason so many wrestlers have died young and not steroids IMO.

But I don't want to get into that in this thread, it's just a shame.

It doesn't say anything on WWE, and this is what Figure Four said:

Edward Fatu, 36, is hospitalized in Houston and in what was described as life threatening condition by a long-time friend.

His family was told to come into town as quickly as possible.

All it says on Ken Kennedy's Twitter page is this:

Say a prayer for my boy Umaga.

Turns out my friend is getting info from the same place everyone is (the net). Umaga is NOT dead, but is on life support according to the Torch.

I've never really checked the Torch. They seem to have false information a lot. I either go with Figure Four, or TWNP. When it comes to wrestlers dying, I usually check WWE.com before believing anything else.

If he passes, WWE will report, and I'd assume they'd report fairly quick.

Yes, we are talking high end medical pain killers, like Valium.

He's not dead yet. Hopefully he can pull through, but apparently it sounds bad.

Figure Four/Wrestling Observer is now reporting this:

Family members have been told they believe he suffered a heart attack.

                        Aw geez.

While I never really liked his wrestling style you can't deny the guy was pretty talented and could put on a show. Painkillers and other high end drugs are killing so many wrestlers out there.

I'm willing to wager the autopsy will reveal that his heart was enlarged as well.

It's nice that so many of these wrestlers stick together like this.
