What slider if any would help that out? I love my slider set I currently use and get very realistic stats. I haven't made changes to my sliders in weeks but I wouldn't mind being able to fix the fast, unrealistic close out speed.

Defender close out speed
If there's anything that bothers me about this game, its the speed in which defenders close out and contest a seemingly wide open jump shot. Not a game killer at all for me but it does get annoying sometimes when a cpu defender makes a mad dash from half way across the court and gets his whole body on your wide open guy spotting up for a 3 in the corner.

Re: Defender close out speed
c/s, this has always been one of my biggest complaints with 2K games since the beginning. It's also what really limits the mid-range game, esp for big men.
I think 2K10 is slightly better than previous versions because the court-to-player size ratio is improved but the speed is still too fast."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I have lowered my cpu defensive awareness and it has helped..and it also depends on what skill level you ae playing on..Pro is just right when it comes to close out speed anything above is unrealistic to me...THANKS FOR THE TRADE SANDIEGO KEEP RIVERS WE'LL TAKE ELIComment

Re: Defender close out speed
^i play on all star and have cpu def awr to 55. I feel that anything less and it becomes too easy for me. Maybe I'll experiment with that though. I'll probably lower my def awr as well.Comment

This is the...I can't comment on vs CPU. But I don't have the problem vs Human opponent. rocboyz_101 plays the CPU a lot he should and probably knows.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Defender close out speed
That is the funny thing, it does seem to disappear vs the human and it's always been that way on this gen of consoles."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

CPU logic needs more tweaking. I don't see stuff like this changing for 5-10 years.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Defender close out speed
I guess it's 2k's way of giving an edge to the CPU and making the game a bit harder for the human player. As it has been stated many times and with all kinds of games, its seems that the developers dont make the cpu AI more smarter on higher difficulty levels....... they just give the CPU some more cheats/boosts to make it harder.Comment

Re: Defender close out speed
I'd agree but I always go back to a great quote Flawless had awhile back. It goes (I'm paraphrasing) "great cpu AI is how good a job a developer does making you think the cpu doesn't know what you're doing". None of these guys are rocket scientists; even rocket scientists haven't figured out true artificial intelligence. In a shooting game the cpu has to be programmed to miss enough to make you think it doesn't know exactly where you are. I'd guess that's why when playing a shooting game on some level called "Insane", the minute anyone exposes any part of themselves the cpu picks them off. I think it's pretty cool what 2K10 has done with player tendencies; many times if you watch a cpu/hum game it's not always easy to tell that you're playing a cpu opponent - looks surprisingly lifelike at times. But I think it's like any other game where there's a thin line between dumbing down the AI too much/not enoughHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: Defender close out speed
lowering the quickness slider helps with this too. i have the cpu slider on 10 and may lower it even more. this also helps the fastbreak catch-up the cpu does as well.
im playing on SUPERSTAR"on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.yea but will they take psn cards

Re: Defender close out speed
I have my quickness and cpu quickness at 30 and with game speed at 48. I found when I was first tweaking sliders that anything lower than this combination gave my game a 30fps feel to it. I might mess with it again though.Comment
