This feature would be really cool if say "bad" free throw shooters just had a smaller window for the release to be a "perfect or good release" and good free throw shooters had a larger window for us to release the ball in. That would still allow for the human element to play a part, but who knows maybe they changed it in 2k10 that's why i ask you guys?

Real Player FT%
I searched the internet for some discussion on this and i was unsuccessful, but it seems like from what i remember from nba 2k8 when the real player FT% is "ON" your release on the shot doesn't matter at all, and the computer will determine the outcome based on the player's free throw ability...is this still the way it works in NBA 2k10??

Re: Real Player FT%
I think it matters some this year because I run with the Jazz and whenever I mess up the timing bad with Boozer or Kirilenko, they miss it, but they make it almost every other time when I'm good.NFL: Bills

Re: Real Player FT%
release shouldn't matter with this on as success will just be determined on their real percentages.Comment

Re: Real Player FT%
actually if you hit a perfect release on a free throw, no matter the shooter is the shot is going in. real ft% it is there to keep all players shooting at a percentace about equal to their free throw rating. AKA the more realistic way out.Comment

Re: Real Player FT%
Release has no effect when using the Real FT% option. Neither does the Free Throw Difficulty slider.
I don't like having free throws be automatic. Why should we take this part of the game out of the players' hands? I'm still working to find the right setting for the Free Throw Difficulty slider to where I end up shooting a realistic FT% without using the Real FT% option.Ryan Spencer

Re: Real Player FT%
Thank goodness for options.
Personally, I like the real player FT%. I don't want to go up there with Shaq and hit 15 of 15 free throw shots, nor do I want to hassle with sliders too much (I generally just get someone else's and play).Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: Real Player FT%
I know a guy that can hit FT with Shaq very consistently (high 80's)...Its kind of annoying. But I also haven't met anyone else who can either. So its both sides of the water.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
