    Good Draft?

hey guys recently completed my first season of franchise mode with the Vikings. After trading my pick during the pre season i was able to snag the 15th pick in the draft in the first round and then the 29th pick in ever other round with the exeception of the 2nd where i had 2 picks . Vikes lost to the Cardinals in the NFC Championship

1st round pick Via lions : Jimmy Clausen 75 Ovr A potential
2nd round 3rd pick Via Browns : AJ Edds 73 Ovr B Potential
    2nd 29th pick Lamarr Houston : 71 Ovr B potential
    3rd round 29th pick : CJ Spiller 64 Ovr B Potential
4th Round Chris Gronkowski 72 Ovr B Potential
7th Round Mat Dodge 53 Ovr c potential

i think i did pretty good since mostly everyone i drafted came out with a B Potential or higher. Filled the holes after the first year since we lost Chester Taylor and brett favre plus Pat williams was getting up in years so i needed a replacement for him thanks!

Surprised CJ Spiller is rated so low.

Spiller always comes in below a 70 rating with 86 speed for me. The NCAA draft classes seem like they are predetermined how many good players they have at each position. I controlled every team with a top junior prospect and conviced them all to stay for their senior year (even Bradford and Clausen) when I uploaded that year into Madden 10 Bradford was the only one with a 1st round grade.

Even though I set it so that Mallet the QB from Arkansas had the highest THP in NCAA, he declared after the 2010 season at a 94 OVR, he entered Madden rated in the 60's with only a 89 THP and horrible ratings and a C potential.

Christian Ponder despite leaving as a top 5 QB in college had a 5th-6th grade and was 82 THP 60 THA.

It just doesn't make sense that the NCAA and Madden teams can't work together to make a cohesive duo of games.

Yes, very annoying when certain players are rated 99 in NCAA, turn out be be crappy backups in MAdden...How to fix?!

This is how it is in real life. Not all first rounders turn out to be pro bowl players. I kind of like this aspect myself.

i have heard that in ncaa 10 if you edit the players strength ratings it changes what there overall in madden usually is and makes it higher btw after a season clausen jumped 10 points despite throwing 25 touchdowns to 18 picks

That sounds pretty cool actually, and makes sense. But, in some areas I feel like the stats should transfer over. Throw power I feel like wouldn't change regardless whether it was good or bad in college. But things like awareness, and intangible skills could certainly take hit.

That being said, I don't think it would ruin my day to find out that the NCAA draft classes didn't transfer perfectly over. So long as they got the basic idea, with busts, sleepers, etc, it wouldn't totally suck if the stats weren't transferred over perfectly.

Check your local library. You can borrow many video games there these days, no charge. You can then sim a bunch of seasons in a day or two, and create a ton of draft classes.

From the library? Really? I'll have to check that out. Never in a million years would I have considered the library to rent some games from.
