Not sure what the difference is between the two play calling levels.

It affects how the menus are setup, and what you are able to do at the line of scrimmage. Ironically, Beginner Play Calling is the hardest way to play the game. -

In hardcore your controller doesn't vibrate when passing and a defender is breathing down your neck.

Also, to me it seems like the CPU calls the perfect plays in hardcore. If your running for short yardage, the call a blitz to the side you're running. If you're passing, they call the perfect pass defense.Purdue Boilermakers
