Merry Christmas everybody! I just got FIFA 10 for the PS3 today and I had a question about virtual pro. I see the accomplishments and they give you attribute boosts. I'm curious as to whether doing these accomplishments are theo nly way to increase certain attributes or is there some kind of experience bar that gives you points to increase certain attributes you want to increase?

No one can help me out? A specific example would be I want to improve my virtual pro's speed, is there a way to use experience points or something else to do that? I don't know if I'm missing the concept of the virtual pro but I don't feel like he's progressing at all. Is there less of a progression when I use him in manager mode?KB24Comment

hi! for speed you have to play a lot of games and/or recieve a match rating of 10 5 times with your pro. sadly this is the only raise to raise your pros speed. On the other hand the smaller you make him the faster he will be but you will lose strength. As for the skill moves go to the my skills and stats bar for your virtual pro and it will tell you which moves you need to complete to unlock more. The conroller settings in the main menu will show you how to do these moves.Comment

Yeah, sounds right. I would love to help and answer the TP's questions, but it's not like FIFA does a great job explaining the depth in their game.
I think they do want it to be somewhat realistic, so if your player is huge, they don't want to make it exceptionally easy to make him really fast as well.Comment

Yeah I understand the size thing. I made my pro my height which is 5'10 I believe he started out at 75 Sprint Speed. It really does suck though that there's not really any explanation of how your virtual pro can progress. This is one thing that I think Fifa's lacking, a good thorough explanation of certain things. The modes and things you can do are great and really make the game phenomenal but I'm not even entirely sure how scouting works
. I'm only a casual soccer fan and there are so many things going on in manager mode I don't know where to begin.

yea man im a hardcore soccer fan and this game took me a good month to figure out. make sure you go to the my virtual pro section in the main menu and select the accomplishment tab. This will tell you what you need to do in order to increase your ratings.Comment

Yeah I thought it was cool how they finally put a Super Star mode in the game. But I was let down when I first played it so I went over to MM and used my Superstar who was a 70 ST, but get this your Pro can't gain any exp or lvl in MM! So he stayed at 70 for 5 seasons and you can't even trade them. I would recommend lvling your Pro before going into MM. Also you can take the Pro along with you every time you change your club.Comment

Thanks guys for answering my question. It's kind of a bummer he can't gain EXP through manager mode but it's definitely still cool to have a superstar mode. How many seasons is Be A Pro Season Mode? Is it just one or can you have an entire career?KB24Comment

Virtual Pro is one of the more interesting modes this year IMO that gets glossed over in a lot of reviews of the game.
Basically, you can improve your virtual pro by "accomplishing" different tasks in the game. A list of these "Accomplishments" can be found under the Virtual Pro menu. Several of them can actually be accomplished in the Arena as well (i.e. performing all of the various dribble moves for each level can move you up to the next level of dribbling skill!)
One of the cool things I like about Virtual Pro is that your virtual pro can be used in a variety of different game modes - you can use him in the Be a Pro Seasons mode or else take him online into the Pro Club Championship. This is a pretty cool feature I have been playing a lot lately. Basically you play online with a bunch of other players and everybody selects a position that their virtual pro will play on the field. Sometimes if you get the wrong group of players it can be an extremely frustrating game-mode with unrealistic play and crazy scorelines but if you end up with a good group of guys of reasonable skill it can be loads of fun.

A few comments:
1. To the OP, did you watch the Virtual Pro tutorial video? It might answer most of your questions if you haven't.

2. If you choose to use your VP in manager mode, it is correct that he doesn't gain EXP points like regular players. BUT, you can still earn the accomplishments needed to improve his skills in this mode, including those based on number of appearances. So if your player scores a hat-trick in a MM game, you get that accomplishment (+3 finishing?) and the respective rating goes up, just as it would if you did it in an online club game.
3. Of course, you can also earn accomplishments and improve your VP's ratings by playing BAP Seasons. This mode still lasts only four seasons as it did in 09, with your goal being to play for your country in the World Cup at the conclusion of the 4th club season. Unfortunately, the domestic cups and European competitions present in MM are not a part of BAP Seasons. Big-time missed opportunity to add some life to the mode, if you ask me...Comment
