    Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders

I'm 8-4 with the Packers. I had changed the sliders before the season and started off 7-0. I made them a little harder, and started losing a lot more. All my stats have been realsitic, but the CPU is just so dumb. With the new patch they hold onto the ball for like 10 seconds (literally) and throw to a guy that is out of bounds. I made accuracy for both the CPU and Me higher. mine is at 37 and I actually think the CPU is at 37 also. I'll post the new changes and stats from one of y games. Reason i didn't post them before is because i had to change the sliders again.
The Carolina Panthers will be 16-0...... next year.

Hey, congrats on being 3-4. I'm 0-10 with the Lions right now and freaking gritting my teeth to get through the season and get some help in the draft. In one way, I'm pissed off that I'm losing, but the Lions are playing almost exactly like they should (I've lost three games by less than 7 points, and gotten blown out in most others).
Bill - Keep me posted on your second season when you start it. I am curious as to how much of a turn around you can develop. If you remember pre-patch #2, the second season our team would be playoff bound and possibly heading to the SB.

In theory, the Lions second season should be 6-8 wins at the most (right?). I'm 4-4 with a surprise win over the Chargers. I'm down to my 3rd string QB...which by the way, is throwing like a 3rd string QB...6 INTS, 1 TD. I'll keep you posted on my progress to make sure the second season in franchise mode stays 'real'.

I'm 0-14 right now in the first season--LOL. It's really, really painful, and pretty realistic so far. My losses haven't been cheap, and several of them have been very close, but the personnel on this team just isn't very good (with the exception of Calvin Johnson, Jr., who is phenomenal).

Is it me or is it very tough to run with these sliders ? I'm playing with the Packers and in the last 2 games i've averaged under 1 yard a carry.

Everything else seems good its just the human rushing.

It's not you. The sliders are very difficult. I think Bill recommends increasing rush blocking by increments of 5. But be careful, if you increase it too much, you'll be tearing it up and the game won't be as realistic.

I've found that some games I'm averaging 4 yds per carry and others about 1 yd per carry. You really have to be strategical about your play calling...that helps a little too.

I actually tried to trade for Johnson before I started my season and the Lions wouldn't give him up for anything. He is unreal.

Every play I call on offense either features him or uses him as a decoy, except on the very rare occasions when I can actually run the ball. I'm really looking forward to drafting some decent offensive lineman--and some decent defensive lineman, and a fullback, and some cornerbacks, and two safeties. Okay, let's just say the team has multiple needs--LOL.

Bill, how is L.Delmas doing in your Franchise? (Random question, I know.) Also, how are the tackle stats? Who's your top 3 or so leading tacklers and with how many. Reason i ask is since tackle stats are messed up in the game (they don't add solo tackles and tackle assist together to get total tackles like they should), I just wanted to see how your tackle stats are compared to mine, cause mine are always real low. i'm sure there is nothing in the sliders you can change to make the number of tackles realsistic, is there.

                    One last question:
Do you import your draft classes, or do you use the genric ones?

Yea, I would say you are in a tough spot. The Lions need a lot. Out of curiosity, the Lions aren't your favorite team are they? Now that your sliders make Madden very real, you should play with your fav team and take them to SB.

I found the same thing in almost all of my seasons. The only exception is the current season I'm in now. I have DJ Williams leading my team and 5th in the league in tackles. But I wonder if it is a freak occurrence.

I thought they fixed that in patch 2--are they still not working?

I'll check L. Delmas when I play this afternoon--what team is he on?

Ummmm.... He's on the Lions. He's a rookie safety for them he starts for them in real life. Guess you overlooked him or something. Louis Delmas is his full name, I think. I had just put L because I wasn't sure what his first name was.

And about the tackles, i was talking about tackle assists and solo tackles not being combined. In the game, they onlyb count solo tackles as tackles, but in the NFL, you combine solo tackles and assists to get the total number of tackles. Guess I didn't explain it good enough. BTW, they did fix the simmed tackle stats in patch 2, that wasn't what i was talking about before, I was talking about the solo tackles and tackle assists not being combined.

I like to sim the CPU defense. Has anyone tried that with these sliders? Would it hurt anything to do that, compared to just playing D?

Sorry--good grief, he's probably my second best player (I thought you were naming someone on the Panthers, and when I didn't find him there, I just blanked out). He had 41 tackles last season, and since nobody in front of him could tackle, I assume the stats are still wrong.

I did win my first game of the second season. I was playing the Bills (both of us rated 82) in Detroit. Trent Edwards got knocked out early in the second quarter. I was behind 13-3 and the Bills were on my 5 when Ryan Fitzpatrick (their backup QB) threw a pick and my CB ran it back 102 yards for a touchdown. I went ahead 17-13 in the middle of the fourth, they drove down to make it 20-17, I was on their 40 with 2:00 left, threw a pick, but got the ball back after using all my timeouts and stopping them by inches on third town. Threw a wide receiver screen to Calvin Johnson and he broke a tackle (which was great) and ran 45 yards to put us ahead with :40 left. The Bills got down to my 30, but they threw to the 10 on the last play and got tackled at the 7.

                                Fun, fun game. :-)
