Hey Bill not played my console for a while and obviously the second patch has been released. Any news on the coach mode sliders?

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
What I've noticed about Madden (and these sliders) is that I can win or lose anytime. I beat the Patriots with a last 'heave-ho' to the endzone...I crushed the Colts (in the snow, which helped)...then I lost to the 0-9 Raiders 44-6. In any case, I'm 9-5 and my team is rated 87 overall in my second season. I'm not dominating much and have many games that are very close. Keep us posted on your second seasons progress...Sorry--good grief, he's probably my second best player (I thought you were naming someone on the Panthers, and when I didn't find him there, I just blanked out). He had 41 tackles last season, and since nobody in front of him could tackle, I assume the stats are still wrong.
I did win my first game of the second season. I was playing the Bills (both of us rated 82) in Detroit. Trent Edwards got knocked out early in the second quarter. I was behind 13-3 and the Bills were on my 5 when Ryan Fitzpatrick (their backup QB) threw a pick and my CB ran it back 102 yards for a touchdown. I went ahead 17-13 in the middle of the fourth, they drove down to make it 20-17, I was on their 40 with 2:00 left, threw a pick, but got the ball back after using all my timeouts and stopping them by inches on third town. Threw a wide receiver screen to Calvin Johnson and he broke a tackle (which was great) and ran 45 yards to put us ahead with :40 left. The Bills got down to my 30, but they threw to the 10 on the last play and got tackled at the 7.
Fun, fun game. :-)

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
I like these sliders but that stupid QB getting the ball away EVERYTIME my OLB get to him. In the 3-4 I cant stop the pass because no matter how many times I get to the QB he gets the ball away no matter what.Comment

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
Hey Bill, just trying out your slider settings in my offline 49ers franchise . I'm only 2 games into this franchise but I dominated both games. It may be because I supersim defensive and special teams plays, and only control the offense. Would your slider settings work when simulating the D/ST?
I scored more than 50 points in each game (@ Cardinals, vs Seahawks).
As it is, when I simulate the opposing team's offense, they can't produce anything. I think my defense blitzes on every play because I've gotten 18 sacks in 2 games. However, I have no interceptions. Any suggestions you could lend me on how to keep my franchise stat-accurate while simulating the defensive plays?
Also, my offense is doing great. I traded for Chris Johnson and he has 450 yards in 2 games, averaging 9 yards per carry. I run a lot of pitches and draws and he is able to outrun nearly anyone to the outside. What do you think the best way to fix this would be? I'm thinking I'll increase CPU block shedding by ~15 points. My passing game is very realistic, and is in no need of tweaking.
Thanks Bill!
EDIT: Just reread your first post and I think I just answered my own question on how to fix my 9 YPC rushing game. As you said:
"2. The sprint button is an exploit, particularly on outside running plays. No sliders will be able to compensate for abuse of sprint."
That's how I manage to run so well, I guess. I'll try to run more inside plays or not use sprint as much, although that kind of defeats the purpose of trading for Johnson.Last edited by MaddenFranchise10; 01-04-2010, 05:04 AM.Comment

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
I have been using these sliders for sometime and I can tell you that simulating the opposing teams offense doesn't work with these. If you want the real effect of these sliders, you need to play out the entire game. I would be willing to bet that your scores will be cut in half at a minimum and Johnson won't run wild even with the sprint button. Try it and let us know.Hey Bill, just trying out your slider settings in my offline 49ers franchise . I'm only 2 games into this franchise but I dominated both games. Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
Thanks for the advice. I just finished my 6th week in my rookie franchise, and the stats have stabilized somewhat. I upped the CPU block shedding, and reduced player run blocking. Now Johnson is averaging 4.8 YPC, though he still leads the league in rushing. But I guess that's still realistic.I have been using these sliders for sometime and I can tell you that simulating the opposing teams offense doesn't work with these. I've been steadily raising the CPU's QB accuracy, and WR catching, as the opposing team can't produce anything when I simulate my defense. I think I also need to increase the CPU's run effectiveness, too, as I just shut Adrian Peterson down for 46 yards on 22 carries.
Does anyone else simulate their team's defense and special teams, and know of some good slider settings that will make games more challenging and realistic?
Thanks.Comment

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
Sorry, not yet. I'm pretty severely burned out at this point, but I'd like to update them one more time. Could any of you guys give me reports on how they play after the second patch? That would be really helpful.Comment

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
Sprint is definitely golden, and especially Johnson, because it gets you to the edge before the defense can get there. Hey, he's still the fastest player, even if you don't use sprint--it's not like the CPU is using it.Hey Bill, just trying out your slider settings in my offline 49ers franchise . In terms of somehow simming the defensive plays--sorry, I don't have a suggestion there. I know that playing defense is very difficult with the sliders if you're actually playing. Actually, they're very difficult even if you just call plays and don't control a player (just watch, in other words). But going into supersim sounds like it changes everything.Comment

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
Of course I forgot to post stats again. I'll play a few games tommorrow in my Packers Franchise after school (I'm 13) and I'll post the stats from one of them.
I'm 3-1 so far, and i'm loving my offense right now!The Carolina Panthers will be 16-0...... next year.Comment

Here's the stats from a game I played today in my Packers Franchise. I made many changes to the sliders, and have basically created my own set. I couldn't post them on the forums though, because the running is a little inconsisntent. I'll post my sliders in a later post.

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
First I want to thank Bill for the hard work put into these sliders, I have no idea why I didn't try them earlier. Anyways I was having difficulty keeping games competitive and these have been great. My one question is on speed threshold. If I lower it (I would like the elite speed guys to visibly be faster) will that mess with the overall integrity of the sliders? I am sure it will, if so any adjustments I can make to compensate?Comment

Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
I timed guys with a stopwatch (I know, that's ridiculous) to get the speed gap as close to "real" as possible (based on combine times)--that's how I arrived at that setting. I'm sure it would have some effect, but if you change it by 5 points or something, I wouldn't think it would be huge. Try it and let us know what happens.First I want to thank Bill for the hard work put into these sliders, I have no idea why I didn't try them earlier. Re: Bill's v3 Realism Sliders
Hey bill just wanna thank you for some GOOD COMPETITIVE sliders. I did two random teams and ended up with a Jags vs Lions game and played a real fun game. Opened up completing passes left and right until the lions started dialing up more blitzes. At the half i was down 13 to 21 and MJD was able to get me a score on the ground to make it 19 to 21 with a 2 point run by Jennings. Finished off the rest of the 3rd and half of the 4th tied up when they stopped me at the goal line and made me go for 3 with 3:xx left on the lock. Forced a three and out on both sides and punted it back with just about 1:40 left and Northcutt fumbled the ball on a hit for a ST TD.
Was just wondering what you felt about upping the game time a little longer to maybe 12-14? Thanks!
Here are some stats for you and for those who like to compare stats before trying sliders out.
