I like it. Now, can we have another QB running with the starting squad too? Just kidding but I'm not at all set on Romo at QB.

      Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

Hey fellow Cowboy fans. We recently made a trip(flew) to Dallas to see both the Skins & Raiders games. It was just a delightful experience. I have several pics I'd like to share with you guys. I will post some individually & you can view them all from a zipped up file. Thanks & enjoy. BTW, tough lost today to the Giants but I expected it really.

You can view the rest from my zipped file attached to the post. Thanks guys!

        Two stories from ESPN:

        http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl...ory?id=4728125

        http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nfl...ory?id=4729002

Not sure how I feel about Romo as a holder...the guy has enough media attention as it is Why give them a story?

I also don't agree with players about Wade being good for the team, but the bright side (to both of these stories really) is that they are both about the team sticking together/standing up for each other. We'll see how much that's worth here soon enough.

Well, it's nice to see the players sticking up for Philips because I sure as heck ain't gonna do it.

Romo now the holder again? They're gonna blame McBriar for Folk's kicking problems. I know there was reports that he wasn't getting the ball down quick enough but McBriar has been his holder all this time. Folk has kicked well up until this year & there was never any hype about McBriar & holding the ball for him. Hmm!

Well, I guess we're toast now. This is incredibly ridiculous to watch. Either we're over-rated with talent or coaching needs to go. I've always said it's the coaching staff but I'm beginning to believe we're just flat out over-rated on talent.

Or, it's a comb of both. We have no sense of urgency & no fire in us at all. I blame that on the soft coaching staff we have right now. I now say we're not gonna make the playoffs when two weeks ago things looked good for us. Totally frustrating!

              Re: Dallas Cowboys War Room

It's a combination of both. From my vantage point, only the following players are indispensable and would be guaranteed starters for most other NFL teams:
              • Tony Romo
              • Jason Witten
              • Demarcus Ware
              • Jay Ratliff

My thoughts on the team at the moment:
              • I feel like we are entirely too passive and predictable on defense. It appears we're constantly playing soft Cover 2 with Ware blitzing all the time (along with Spencer some of the time), with Brooking / James cleaning up in the middle and everyone else just playing back trying not to get made a fool of. It's more or less worked reasonably, but it's entirely too predictable and the better teams in the NFL have clearly exploited this.
              • I also feel like our offensive line is a bit overrated this season, and Marion Barber most assuredly is. The running game has definitely been inconsistent, and I don't feel like Barber is our best option at primary running back. We should use Tashard Choice a whole lot more.
              • With regard to the future of the team, should the salary cap persist we've got potential problems. We've got a ton of guys of varying skill levels commanding a ton of money: not only Romo, Ware, Witten, and Ratliff, but also Marion Barber, Roy Williams, Flozell Adams, Leonard Davis, Ken Hamlin, Igor Olshansky, and Patrick Crayton. If the cap sticks around (and I hope it does), we might have problems with these contracts and keeping the new players we bring in that actually pan out. Notably this offseason, Miles Austin will be a free agent, but we've got a TON of money tied up at receiver right now between Williams, Witten, and Crayton. I'm no NFL economist and NFL salary cap information is seemingly held close to the NFL's vest, but just going off what I know about the team and who makes the most money I can foresee potential speed bumps for the Cowboys in this regard.

Well put! I agree that we seem to be so predictable on defense. Heck, we can even be of offense at times too. I agree Barber doesn't need to be our main back. He should be the one put into the game at certain areas on the field.

He's still a good back but isn't a gamebreaker by any means. Jones & Choice are the better threats at RB. Barber is our toughest back though because Jones is injury proned & Choice scares the heck out of me carrying the ball.

Williams has played a little better at WR lately but still has been a BIG disappointment for us. Sometimes, I have noticed on throws to him from Romo that he doesn't even make an attempt to catch the ball. It's like he doesn't expect the ball at times.

Austin has stepped us for us big time. We need to take a close look at keeping him in Dallas if we can. I wouldn't have said that this time last season though.

I agree about the OL & DL too. Our DL seems to hardly ever stop the run(make tackles) & almost never gets pressure on the QB except for Ratliff at times. That leaves our LB's & DB's to stop the running game.

Our DB's are very inconsistent all over the field. Newman has been a big disappointment for the most part. He gets burnt nearly every game for a big play. Jenkins is much improved but still is very inconsistent. I think it's more related to the scheme than anything. Why play 10 yards off a receiver on 3rd & less than 5 yards? That's easy for a high school team to beat. Again, that would be the scheme of Wade Philips & not the DB's actual fault. I don't get it. You definitely don't do that against a Philip Rivers or higher tier QB for sure.

Romo has actually had a pretty solid season. He's been really good over the past 5 weeks or so but has gotten them nowhere really. People keep blaming him for this underachieving from the Cowboys. It's not him. I was a critic of him earlier this year but he's come through for us.

This is why I think it's more of the coaching staff than anything. We play soft just like our coaching staff. Wade has no fire in him at all. This shows from the team attitude on the field. I just think until we get rid of this staff we're gonna continue down the same road.

I think we can rest assured that if we don't at least make the playoffs then Jones is gonna fire Wade. It may take a run to the Superbowl to save his job really. I myself am tired of the same 'ol reaction after a loss. He always says "We need to work hard to get better". Well, duh! That could be said be every single team after a dang loss.

We may pull off a big upset by beating the Saints this Saturday night & be right back into the playoff hunt but if we lost then we're shot if not already. Let me say this.

Are we really good enough at both talent(players) & coaching(Wade & staff) to even think we are a legit contender? No!

Dallas K Nick Folk has officially lost his job. ESPN has reported that the Dallas Cowboys will sign K Shaun Suisham to take over the Place Kicker duties for the rest of the season.

Great plan. Replace a kicker who can't make easy kicks with a...wait for it...kicker who can't make easy kicks! Might as well bench Folk and use Buehler IMO.

Folk and Suisham are roughly the same guy at this point, with the difference being, Folk once showed glimpses of pro-bowl play. I don't get this at all.

A scorned kicker that changes teams is dangerous. Definitely glad we've got Suisham instead of Folk right now.

I still wonder why we didn't give Buehler a chance at kicking FG's/XP's. Oh well, it's down to the nitty gritty come tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't come down to a kick from Suisham for the win.

I have about as much confidence in him as I did Folk. He was a former Cowboy so that probably was a factor in us signing him too.

I still don't trust him in winning games. I say give Buehler a shot. Geez! He has a very strong leg & shows that on kickoffs. Maybe he's not accurate enough but can't be any worse than Folk was with us this season.
