    If the defense was in position down court. A long pass usually ended up being either stolen or out of bound turnover. Now if the defense was sort of in position but you tried throwing a long pass with a big man (who usually have low passing ratings). It was usually a turnover 95% of the time. But finally long passes with no defense back were completed 100% of the time. Which I think it’s the way it should work. Maybe the only part I’m on edge on it’s the 100% completion rate. Maybe a long passes with no defense should be around 90%.

    If a contact animation is cause the passing goes down….I’m on the fence about this one. I agree and disagree…So no comment from me until I see it.

    I’m kind of afraid to download the patch because of this. But I think it all works out in the word of SIM. <O
    Are you an Online player? I don't play Online or H2H games, so maybe the passing was fine in 2-player games, but it wasn't fine when playing against the CPU.

    Almost every CPU player could pass like they were an amalgamation of Nash, CP3, and LBJ. Good defense was negated too often by the perfect court vision, and more importantly, the laser beam like accuracy of the CPU's passing in the half court sets.

    I throw the ball away the majority of the time when I try to make those same ill advised passes. I just want the CPU to have the same failure rate as I do. Especially with poor passing Bigs.

      AAAhhhhhh vs the CPU.....

      I NEVER play the CPU. Maybe once in a while. But I have seen exactly what your talking about. CPU cheats too much.

      Edit: But also from the sounds of it...he talking about users.

        I'm ok with the lowered success in contact animations/pass success(Like you, I will have to see it in action). I mainly play online and passing out of a contested jumpshot was far too accurate for my taste for the user with any player. The biggest no no in passing is leaving your feet before passing.

        I do agree with you about passing out of double teams already being difficult. I use the sixers exclusively and my bigs have a hard time passing out of doubles, turning it over quite often. On the flip side, double teaming Kobe or Lebron "2K" James often proves meaningless as they can easily pass out of doubles at will and find wide open 3pt threats like D Fish, Mo Will, Delonte, etc. I think they need to lower the success for some of the high profile wing players imo. Again I'm speaking simply from a head to head standpoint.
        EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

          I’ve passed it out of contact animations with guys like CP3, Kobe, LeBron and etc etc. They are usually passes to wide open players underneath the basket ( when his man comes over to block/help). But if I try passing it with someone that can’t pass like those stars. I usually get stuck in the animations. So that once the contact animation starts. There is no ending it. I think stars should still be able to pass the ball out of these animations.

          I’ve already have the plan to back up everything on my PS3 before the patch. Just in case I really don’t like the update to play offline only. Right all my friends agree that the gameplay is near perfect when talking about user vs user.

            Agreed jeebs. I'm not saying I want double teams to equate to automatic turnovers for these guys. I just think the success percentage of some of these passes out of doubles should be reduced some for these superstars. My main complaint is when guys like "2k" James and Kobe are able to make pinpoint passes out of doubles with their backs completely to their teammate who is on the opposite side of the floor.

              CPU players are now much more selective when choosing to pass the ball while attacking the basket
              So this mean when lebron james is going to attack and about to dunk, he wont pass the ball in midair when his attack is on 100 and his pass out is on 0.

              Wait were is the autosave fix in association. My autosave is off but i keep on autosave in association.

              CPU teams will now trade amongst themselves during 30-team Associations when the user has automated the Player Trading task for all of the teams.
              Holy crap didnt even about this, glad i didnt start association yet.

                2k acknowledged that this was actually not a glitch and they made it like this on purpose. i forget why exactly but i read this on the 2k boards or maybe simballer said something about it here.

                    Honestly, I expected a lot more from this patch. I expected the focus to be on online and the core gameplay. I'm assuming the online can't be fixed without a large investment in new servers and heavy code optimization. If they fix PIP defensive logic, make every online mode work and finely tune the movement/momentum, we'd have a damn good game. Without this, it is merely average.

                        how so? that whole profile switching / signing out thing? i took the not very clever route of saving multiple association files so i can go back if i want.

                          it says that the patch will make the cpu trade players when controling all 30 teams with a "cpu managed trade task" turned on...

                          so does this mean that they will also now sign, waive, demote & call-up players also? they do not do this either!

                              Its not the servers, imo its all code. I have said this over and over, they are running on the big take two servers now. The same ones Rockstar uses.

                                Toned down pass accuracy out of double teams? Oh god...

                                It's bad enough that 50% of players online are constantly doubling, since as soon as a player is doubled in 2k basketball they go from NBA player to 8 year old house league player that the coach only plays because everyone gets their turn. It takes damn near 3 seconds to pass out of a double and they already blow 5 foot passes all the time. I wouldn't mind this if they made passing out of a double much faster, but I've been asking for that for 3 years and it hasn't happened so I won't hold my breath.

                                I'm all for toning down the accuracy out of shots and for full court lobs, but this wasn't necessary.
