Re: More CES footage, Sox and Yankees
That looked really nice; the real-time presentation looks pretty cool. One of the things that's always kept me from The Show is it comes off as boring to me (sorry I'm not a big baseball fan) but the pitch/between-pitch action was "busy" enough to keep my attention. Not a fan of the models but they're okay. Always thought the pitching in The Show was a strong point, but it didn't look as... unique from the pitcher aspect. Ball looked weird coming out of the pitcher's hand to me. Could be the shaky camera though. Looks nice thoughHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I think the camera man was " ALL SHOOK UP" in honor of Elvis's 75th birthday.

Re: More CES footage, Sox and Yankees
Did anyone else notice the broadcast cam switched as soon as the swing started? Hopefully the timing of that will be a bit more natural when the game comes out.Comment

You sir, are fired (ignore the fact that I have no authority to do so and no idea what you are fired from).
I noticed it as well. Unfortunately, the camera was too shaky for me to tell on that brief look at the Monster if they fixed it as that's an even more obvious error. We'll see!

Re: More CES footage, Sox and Yankees
It does like quite good, but does anyone know if the "dead center" outfield camera that some teams use for TV is in '10? I'm sure all of you know what I'm talking about, but since I love playing with the snipping tool, I included a pic.
PS - Sorry if this has been discussed ad-naseum, but I'm from another part of town...Attached FilesComment

Re: More CES footage, Sox and Yankees
Here's a question for you guys in the know...
There are obviously playable copy(ies) of '10 at CES and elsewhere, so with release being less than 2 months away, which means shipping and packaging are quickly approaching, what is typically the cutoff date before a game ships that it can be tweaked/fixed/polished etc...
Let's say during the CES coverage, can things that pop up after a few hundred hours of playing the game on the display be fixed for a release date, or is it something that gets added to the list of the patch that inevitably follows?
When is "D-Day" so to speak with a March 2 release?

Re: More CES footage, Sox and Yankees
The community event last year was at the end of January. They tweaked things as we sat there playing and noticing things. I would say they have a solid month of tweaking to go. As I mentioned earlier, I would not pay any attention to batting stances, players numbers and pitch deliveries in any of the to be released vids. It is STILL a work in progress, for weeks yet. Here's a question for you guys in the know...

Re: More CES footage, Sox and Yankees
Never heard about the community event? That's OK... someone can let you know what it's about. Maybe one year you'll get invited "Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment
