Wouldnt this seem to go along with EA's trainer game. So Madden with the ability to be the trainer? March/April seems kinda quick.

Re: EA CEO Speaks of an Innovative and New Take on Madden?
I agree as well Rgiles.
Some of us were wondering when the marketing [info] would start for M11...well, now we know.
Like you said Russ...EA bigwigs using words like "innovative" are as basic of catch words as they come. I'm just a nobody behind a cpu screen. But I'd bet a nickel, Madden 11/12 will be no more innovative than EA's marketing tactics.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

I agree with some previous posters that said this is a EA marketing ploy. I have to hand it to EA, they are great at marketing.
EA says: BAAA, BAAA, come on sheeple follow us to the hype train......

Its not hard to do when they are the ONLY nfl licensed game coming out. On a positive note, they seem to be on the right track w/ what they did in M10.Last edited by dfos81; 01-12-2010, 02:31 PM.Comment

Re: EA CEO Speaks of an Innovative and New Take on Madden?
True.
People need to realize though, that this "innovative, new take" isn't going to be a new game by any stretch of the imagination. EA doesn't even have an entire year to make Madden 11.
Look at pro-tak, it took them a while to make this and it still isn't that great. To me, the words "new and innovative" coming from EA means, more bugs and glitches to patch post release. Don't drink the kool-aid is all I'm saying......Comment

Easier said, then done. Every year we end up drinking the kool-aid b/c thats the only thing to drink.True.

I can say that I'm actually enjoying the franchise mode more than I can ever remember. So they are doing something worth drinking.Last edited by dfos81; 01-12-2010, 02:51 PM.Comment

Re: EA CEO Speaks of an Innovative and New Take on Madden?
If it's not gameplay related then I could bet it would be more of an online be pro mode maybe with more advanced features than NHL or FIFA. Innovative can really mean anything in EA's world. Just like pro-tak..nice addition but nothing ground breaking.Who Dat!Comment

i like kool aid especially if its cherry. Made the ghetto way too man you can't get better than that. lol
anywho i don't think inovation can be bad maybe a realtime ticker at the bottom of the screen while your playing your franchise. or to see realtime stats while your playing play now games. that would be innovative. they came along way last year they wouldn't mess that up in one year would they

Real-time ticker would be nice. I was also thinking about having spectate mode(broadcast cam) for online games. I would love to see my buddies playing and getting a leg up on them at the same time. I perfer grape kool-aid lol.Last edited by dfos81; 01-12-2010, 03:13 PM.Comment

hey does anyone know if VC had a patent on their program where the cpu uses your tendancies against you. wouldn't that be cool if you played your buddy , then played against his tendancies in a cpu game to scout his game.Comment

Re: EA CEO Claims New Take on Madden
THEORY #1 We ALL know EA cares about $$$ more than anything else, let alone its customers. Low sales for Madden 10?lol
Ok, first of all, I'm not jumping off of a bridge over Madden lol. Since we don't get the little updates and what not on Madden anymore, any news is gonna be BIG news IMO. That's why this thread will get a lot of views before it's all said and done. Now back to the topic:
Let's start adding things up shall we? They hired a new creative director, a creative director that has worked on nothing but arcade sport games. I may be wrong though because I didn't read his whole portfolio of games that he has worked on, but from what I've seen, it's all arcade sports games. That's the first piece. You don't hire someone with a portfolio full of arcade sports games unless you plan on making an arcade sports game. In fact, that's probably the last person you'd hire if you were trying to make a sim sports game.
Next you have the CEO saying that Madden is going to have an "innovative and new take" on Madden this year. Ok, let's think about this. We already know that Ian's take on Madden was everything you see on Sunday you see it on the game. He said that plenty of times last year. Well, now that's the old take. Seeing that Madden is getting a "new take" because of a lack of sales, what do you think that new take will be? I can almost guarantee it will be something that will appeal to a broader audience. You know, just like I know, that appealing to a broader audience is the opposite of what a sim gamer wants.
Anyway, this is all just my take. I don't know any more than you lol. In fact, you may know more than me lol. I've just seen these types of quotes many many many times in the past from EA and they very rarely turn out good for the OS crowd lol. Don't blast me. It's just my opinion lol.
EA: "Lets just appeal to a bigger more casual audience. We will lose some loyal customers, but we will double our profits by attractive a wider audience overall. Where else can they go?"
Not ready to flip out YET...But all signs point toward them making madden pretty much STR8 up ARACADE.
If this does happen, Video Game football will be officially DEAD!
THEORY #2 EA has purchased natual Motions Tech thus cancelling backbreaker (which was never gonna come out anyway) and are implementing it in Madden 11. They will offer 2 completely unique modes of play to make EVERYONE happy and a custom online feature which will let you playby your own house rules.
Its either #1 or #2 (minus the BB tech of course. But i can dream)Comment

Re: EA CEO Claims New Take on Madden
Money says the innovation will be a new physics engine. Madden has been using pretty much the same engine through out it's cycle, so innovation could mean changing the core gameplay/physics engine.
Arcade game isn't going to happen. That is why NFL Madden Arcade was just released. They would lose so much money turning the only NFL sim football game into an arcade game, they are already catching hell for a decline in profits. It's probably going to be something groundbreaking that will change the game and offer a new take on it. Just like when 2k first came out on dreamcast, that was a completely different take on football compared to what we was used to at that time. It shaped football games and set a standard. I am willing to bet money Madden is aiming for something along these lines. Maybe a new camera system or audio system or physics or something.Virginia Tech Hokies NCAA 2011 Dynasty Thread :

Re: EA CEO Claims New Take on Madden
Matter of fact, in terms of football, the only thing madden has not accomplished is a realistic physics engine and a complete broadcast presentation. my money is on a full fledge presentation broadcast like they are doing with the college basketball and such. Its one or the other? Cause quite frankly, what else can they come out with that we have not seen? Realistic physics and a presentation engine that blows you away.Virginia Tech Hokies NCAA 2011 Dynasty Thread :
