Re: MLB '10: The Show Hands-On Impressions @ CES w/ Russell_SCEA *Day 2*
that Japan vs. US game looks fun. it has some good things going for it (mostly, the swing followthroughs and the way the outfielders track down balls)
by the way, can any one direct me to last year's Developer Blogs? I searched the forums and couldn't find them. and I could only find one through playstation.com
any help would be appreciated. this seems like an appropriate time to re-read what made last year exciting.
thanks in advance,
Tim

Here is a link to the PS Blogs about MLB 09 The Show... starting at the oldest.

Judging by the time frame, and seeing Chris and Brian on here now, I have a good feeling we will see a blog this coming week.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Unless you are talking about that and accidentally typed "pitchers" instead of "pitches"?#WeAreUKComment

Are you saying you can throw warm up pitches before a game and when bringing in a pitcher from the bull pen?Comment

And would you say that is a good thing?
I was hoping that fielding in MLB 10 The Show fixed all those little issues that a lot of us here hate.Comment

You can throw warm-up tosses when you bring a reliever in. I am not sure about the start of the game. I do not think so!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Correct. I believe you get 8-10 warmup pitches when you bring reliever in. Didn't see it at beginning of game.PSN: ToxicitiComment

I think baseball has more nuances than any sport and SCEA gives us more than any game has ever done before (at least US games as I have never played a Japanese game or otherwise).
Bravo SCEA! Keep up the good...make that GREAT work!#WeAreUKComment

Re: MLB '10: The Show Hands-On Impressions @ CES w/ Russell_SCEA *Day 2*
Warm up pitches - nice! If they do this for starting pitchers next year I'd like to see them go one step further. The game is programmed to allow only 5 pitches during a game and Russell said this will not change. However, for pitchers who have an arsenal of more than 5 pitches it would be nice to be able to pick which ones you are going to go with in the game.
So for example pre-game you're in the bullpen warming up (which is a separate mode programmed to allow more than 5 pitches.) You then feel out all of your pitches with the warm up tosses. When done you pick the 5 you want to go with in the game.
Awhile back I was reading a book and Mike Mussina said this is what he does. He has 10 pitches to work with or whatever and he throws out the ones that don't have any pop during warm ups. Also, this would sort of satisfy those who don't like the 5 pitch limitation as well - at least there's some control. Mussina said there were days when he felt nothing was working, and if that were programmed in the game it would be pretty cool. To start out the first inning with a real bad feeling or a great feeling if everything is working.
Probably would entail some crazy programming so perhaps it's too much I dunno.Comment
