Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 New Screenshots (1-25-10)
You would think getting the team colors and uniforms right would be required by the MLB license. Especially after we were told by Ron that the reason the insights were delayed because of MLB approval. So MLB has to approve the insights but NOT the team colors???Comment

Besides even being required to be right, it's like how could it even be wrong? You are in charge of colors so you pull up a picture of a real Yankee Hat and drag it next to an in game picture of a Yankee hat and it's off, so you tweak it until it's as close as you possibly can get. Then forever after that, that color is used for Yankee hats. Rince and Repeat for all teams until you have the correct color pallete.Comment

I think a lot of it has to do with their lighting engine too. They have to find a healthy balance with it, and it can make the colors look off.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

It's not even a "light versus dark" issue, there are some colors that simply aren't correct. The Phillies' red in this game is almost a burgundy, it's that off.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 New Screenshots (1-25-10)
Yup. It was the same for the Red Sox in 2K8 (burgundy reds) and their "new" Blue alternates in 2K9 were too light. Looked awful. The bright side for PC users at least, is the uniforms are pretty easy to edit and a slew of fixes got posted for 2K9 within a month or so of release. Still...it shouldn't come down to that and console players are obviously stuck.Comment

Well that stinks. Would be getting this on the PC anyhow, but in general, not cool.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Why? Middle inn and thigh high.. That pitch should be crushed.
Looks good so far. Would be nice to get MLB 2K on the same level as NBA 2K.Comment

Off the end of the bat (yes, that's the end and not the fat part) and hitting the top third of the ball. That shouldn't be lifted or crushed.
That's what I mean... despite the pitch location or what have you, they have had issues having the ball hit the bat in the right place. Re: Major League Baseball 2K10 New Screenshots (1-25-10)
You do realize that hitting down on the ball does not = ground ball all the time right? Hitting down on the ball creates backspin and backspin means the ball will carry a lot further than one struck on an up swing ( unless you are ridiculously powerful ). Why do you think Sheffield has hit tons of line drive homers?Off the end of the bat (yes, that's the end and not the fat part) and hitting the top third of the ball. And no that isnt off the end of the bat. Thats right on the edge of the sweet spot. Depite popular belief the sweet spot is NOT in the middle of the barrel.

What the hell? I'm not talking about hitting down or up on the ball, I'm saying he's hitting the top of the ball. Actually, many people have it in them that the sweet spot is somewhere close to the end of the bat, but not quite at the edge of the bat. I know exactly where it is, and you're right that it's just off the sweet spot (and by "just" I mean it's half a ball's diameter off the sweet spot), but off the sweet spot means either off the handle or off the end, and it's off the end.And no that isnt off the end of the bat. Moving.
The bat is obviously in a lag position which gives a deceiving angle ( which also generates power and bat speed through the zone but I guess you knew that since you know everything *cough* ). We see that the bat has NOT contacted the ball yet and from that its clear to see that he would NOT hit on top of the ball but would be swinging down creating backspin causing either a line drive or a mammoth HR ( Rollins is known to hit some big flys for a little man ).
Looking at the picture tells me that the batter most likely hit the ball to CF / RC and it will be hit hard.

I don't know why either of you are arguing such a point because with 2K, that ball could go right through the bat.Comment
