    Vancouver 2010 Review

With ongoing economic instability and a recent natural disaster taking place, you may hear some criticism directed toward the Winter Olympics. While the athletic competition and international camaraderie is certainly of value, some may see the Games as an unnecessary expenditure, taking money away that could be better used elsewhere.

I will save the politics for other Web sites, but know this: This exact situation is happening on a much smaller scale at your local game store. If you buy Vancouver 2010: The Official Videogame of the Winter Olympic Games, you will wish that you had spent your own money on something more important. This game, despite some high points, is one of the most overpriced titles you will find during the next four years.

      Good review.

Hasn't been a good Olympic game in forever.

          BounceWithMe,

I don't agree with that necessarily, but it seems every time the Olympic Games happen, there is a lot of criticism.

I think even NBC claims they lose money on the games. Of course, NBC could probably lose money by winning the lottery.

I agree that a larger variety of events would be nice. I'm not too sad they excluded curling though, as I'm releasing Curling 2010 in the next week or so for the Xbox 360 (under the Indie games section).

I'll rent most likely...I absolutely love ski jumping, so I hope that's good.

But I disagree w/ the comment of no good olympic games. Teh beijing game was good imo. I actually really liked it and played it for hours and hours...the only problem with that game was it's STEEEEEEP learning curve. It took forever to actually 'click' with that game.

Yeah this game is like that too. Not the easiest game in the world. Def have to do some practice with it.

I really wish they had team events. Hockey, curling, battling to the gold medal would be awesome. I may check out sonic and mario's winter games. It looks interesting, and probably the best one out there, which is kinda sad.

                    No snowboard halfpipe, no thanks.

I'm still looking for a decent snowboarding game for PS3.

A perfect rental game when a few buddies come over for beers + gaming imo.

I see a copy with no instructions on Ebay for 5.00. Might pick it up. My kids might like it.

I kind of want to get this but I played the demo and just got killed on the downhill race. I did it probably 10 times and got beat by the cpu by 15 seconds or so each time, even when I didn't hit any gates. Are most events hard to win?

I never could figure out what to do on the other event in the demo where you jump and have to land in a certain area.

I'm everywhere! Maybe try the hockey and soccer games, I won't be there LOL yeah no half pipe is sad since that's my favorite, but Shaun White Snowboarding has it and that game is fun. I wish the X-Games would come out with a high quality game.
