Vancouver 2010 impressions?
Anyone get this game yet? I'm a sucker for Olympic themed games even though almost all are horrible lolTags: None -
Re: Vancouver 2010 impressions?
I'll put something up if I get the game...I'm seriously thinking about buying this game today. From what I've read they're getting away from the typical "button mashing" gameplay that Oylmpic games are famous for so my interest is peaked...that with the 4 player split screen has me right on the edge of a purchase... -
Re: Vancouver 2010 impressions?
I'm having a blast with it. The game is basically a bunch of mini-games. Very light on the button mashing shockingly. One thing I really like is online is everyone at once ala Links 2004, instead of waiting for everyone to go. You see a bunch of ghosts.
It's not the end all be all, but it's fun, and would be a great party game, especially with the easy controls.Comment

Re: Vancouver 2010 impressions?
I'm actually having a great time with this as well. My expectations weren't high to start with and it delivers with a simple mix of mini-games and fun. No real depth here, but still fun to pop in and play for awhile. Still trying to get the hang of some events. I have a heck of a time with the bobsled for some reason. Loving the downhill and ski jumping, though. No real button mashing to speak of. More of a precision timing thing than anything. Nice crisp graphics. Overall, a good diversion from most other games I play.Comment

Re: Vancouver 2010 impressions?
No Curling = no purchase from me. Can I please get a Olympics game with Curling? The Nagano game for N64 had it, and I couldn't stop playing it. That was 1998, when Curling was never televised. You'd think with how popular it became the past couple of Olympics they'd include it, but I think the Nagano game was the only one ever to have Curling. It's the perfect video game event too, I have no idea why it keeps getting passed over.Comment

Re: Vancouver 2010 impressions?
I have Deca Sports on Wii (has curling), and also e-bayed the PS1 version of Nagano that has it...don't play them often, but enjoy curling. Grew up watching it on CBC (in the Detroit area we got that channel) and it's actually pretty interesting. I miss getting to see the Briar and Scott, along with the juniors... I highly doubt we get another curling game, but i'd be up for it.No Curling = no purchase from me. Can I please get a Olympics game with Curling? Re: Vancouver 2010 impressions?
There will be a curling game for the Xbox 360 in the next two weeks - Curling 2010. It won't rival EA any time soon, but it will be a good game for the price.
