And through all of this, I start to worry about the effects the freezing, and the turing on and off of my 360. I really don't have any idea if constant freezing of a game can cause damage to the hd, but it is something that I have always been afraid of. I had a freeze last night, and I just decided to play NBA 2k9 instead because I didn't want to go through the trouble of wasting any more gaming time by playing a dynasty game only to have it freeze before I finish. Damn you EA!

About hd... I dnt get real game freezes, but a couple of bad events after 2 months of continuous play (also Dynasty), first a corrupted file on hd (roster file saved by game), then a serious staggering framerate at the beginning of each match.
Staggering become worse after time, then i switch for antoher hd and problem gone, everything fine.
The hd is 250gb came from brand new PS3, no problem with other games... Dnt know to think guys... I get really scared about that, im done with this game, sadly, cuz i love it : /

Cane, I downloaded your rosters...nice work, they really force you to be active defending on the perimeter. It does make the CPU more balanced in taking outside shots vs. inside shots, but I still find the post game to be scripted and unnatural. Maybe it's me, but it seems like you can never really play physical defense in the post; the CPU always fires off a quick jumper or a turnaround jumper, without ever backing you down. Once in a blue moon you can trap them in a double team, but that's about it.

Glad you like the play of the rosters. They do open up the game and really add to the variety in the game. Not to mention make the game play more like college ball instead of pack it in NBA. You gotta ratchet up the defensive pressure both inside and out. Come Sunday afternoon/evening I'll be uploading my last update for a while. The update will include your Temple Owls along with a few other mid majors and some tweaks to the already done BCS/Power Conference teams.

Yeah, not much help for the post game. Recently, though, I have seen the cpu kick it a couple times a game. Not sure what's causing it, whether it's my play style has changed, something in the rosters or sheer coincidence. The edited rosters weren't supposed to help with that so most likely coincidence. And it still doesn't happen for most people's liking. Oh well, that's one flaw that I can live with.

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here

I had high hopes for this game. I have played 2k8 the past few years and needed something new. After reading what a few people had said in a thread titled "10 vs 2k8" I decided to get this game. I had a gift card I needed to use so I knew I would not be out any money. Good thing because after 3 weeks with the game I'm done.
I'm a offline dynasty only player and the dynasty mode is a joke. You can edit coaches names but they don't show up in the dynasty WTF. Then the teams that offer you a contract are a joke. If you are a up start coach the only teams that offer you a job should be small low level schools not a 4* school like Cinci, or Boston College. Then the recruiting points you get is a joke as well. I took E.Ill. and only had 78 point for the whole season with 8 spots to fill. There is no way you can fill that many holes and know anything about the player. Who ever thought of this way of recruiting should not work on a sports game. In real life coaches work on time not points so why does EA keep puting points system in there games.
Game play was fun at first but after a few games I was way over it. If you want to do the ESPN/CBS thing then its great only if you have a select few games that get that broadcast package but when every game I play as a small school like E.Ill. is on ESPN or CBS is not believeable. I only got the "freeze" twice so it didn't kill the game for me but did piss me off. Both times was after playing a few games so I thought it may be due to the system/game getting to hot.
Then the fact that EA has left this game for dead with no patch in sight is the nail in the casket. With a simple patch this game would be ok.
All in all I'm done with this game. I'm going to trade it in while I can still get something for it. This is the last EA basketball game I will buy and I use to love March Maddness and bought it evey year. It makes me sad to say all this but its the truth. EA needs to do somethings with all their games (only play NCAA Football & Madden) for me to buy another one. Tired of the dynasty modes getting put on the back burnner. EA I'm sad.
Relax, it's just a video game!

I just bought NCAA Basketball 10 for the PS3 today. I've been an avid fan of the football franchise for a while (since '99) but this is the first college basketball game I've bought or even played since the '99 edition for PS one (March Madness '99 or something like that.) Anyway, I only just started dynasty mode, got through the preseason and a few games, then I had to go to work but so far I'm really impressed. I'm a diehard college football fan and I'm really shocked that (IMO) NCAA Basketball 10 is a much better game as far as depth and realism with atmosphere and off-the-court team management elements. Take my opinion for what it's worth though because as I said, this is my first experience with the franchise on a next-gen console.

Great Game, it has its faults, but it really draws you into the College atmosphere, I'm hooked.

I'm not goint to lie, I would've preferred a 2k title over this, but I still find this game somewhat addictive and fun. My only gripes are with the recruiting, limited creation of a player and some of the basketball courts that they didn't put any effort into at all (Long Beach St comes to mind).

This game seems to have enough visual and control differences that make it more appeasing to me than NBA Live 10 (which I didn't really care for).

Overall all, I don't love it, but I like it enought to keep playing.

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here

Well I now own this game for the second time. A buddy of mine bought a 360 yesterday and wanted me to go with him. I was walking around the store and saw one copy of this game left for PS3. I'm burned out on CH2K8 at this point after playing the hell out of it for three months and I've been playing (and enjoying) the demo of NCAA 10 the last week or so. So what the hell I thought, here we go again.

The new sliders and rosters definitely help, as does the fact that this game is a thousand times prettier to look at than 2K8, but the game has many major warts - still I played the damn thing for seven hours yesterday. I decided to just accept the CPU post issue and I block the shot every time - it is what it is. Sometimes it goes out of bounds so the CPU gets the ball back anyway. Sometimes if you jump earlier enough the CPU will do an up-n-under.

The user offense is awesome, floor cam (which is broken in Live -doesn't zoom out on jump shots to see the rim/flight of the ball) is the best camera I've ever seen in a basketball game and a camera that I didn't even try the first time I owned the game because I figured it'd be broken like in Live. The graphics and presentation are way better than 2K8 and dynasty is decent enough.

I guess if you accept this game for what it is then you can really enjoy it. I'm going to sim one year in a dynasty to get a ton of fresh recruits into UConn and just play the BET & the Big Dance and fly through the years to enjoy new recruits and players. I'll also start an all-time roster file that I'll work on over the course of the year since we won't have a college game next winter.

There's enough here to get a lot of entertaining hours out of the game for us college bball diehards.

Is there a Baseline High camera in this game? I like Live's as I max height and zoom all the way out and you get a great view of the floor. Really helps offensively to run the plays correctly.

Yeah it's called Overhead I believe, a little different than Live (more zoomed out I believe) so you'd probably like it. That's what I was using before I switched to Floor.
