I do auto field/auto throw. So, the broadcast cam will work just fine for me. Yeah, I stink at fielding,lol.....Comment

Cut, is that you???
The video you are seeing is obviously not the data he captured on Tuesday...you will have to wait for release to see his personal anims in the game.
But yes, we are aware of the "broken wrist" issues with many of our older batting animations. I won't go into all the technical reasons for it, but it is something we are looking forward to correcting in the future.

LOL...how in the hell did Nascar make it into the Show forums? And why are we trying to determine the true meaning behind Mauer's comment about pitchers playing the Show on PSP and facing the lineup?
Anyways, back to the game.....
Video looks great. Broadcast cam looks sexy and I'm hoping its available on the demo, because I'd love to have some time messing with it to see how I do with manual fielding(can't use auto-fielding)I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

after watching the video a handful of times, I just don't understand all the concern about fielding using the broadcast view..am I missing something? It looks pretty straight forward from that video.

Dave, it is. I think once guys see it on a bigger screen and can take in all the goodness of the field, and the stadium, they'll not complain (tongue-in-cheek). The balls off the walls have to actually be played like, well, er balls off the wall. That may take a little bit of practice. PLUS you can always change the fielding view to LOW/MED/HIGH if you don't like it, just like last year, as BROADCAST view is just another fielding view.Last edited by jim416; 02-05-2010, 09:59 PM.Comment

Re: Meet Joe Mauer, Your MLB '10: The Show Cover Athlete w/ Gameplay Video
Chris and Kolbe were pretty much the first devs to post on The Show forums. They have passed the torch to Russell; only making cameo appearances here and there.
I wish Chris would post more often, as he is the lead animator. The batting stances and pitching motions have pretty much been my only gripe with the game the last few years. Hopefully, the fact that he hasn't been posting as much is a sign that he's hard at work with the new animations.
I loved what they did with the batting stances last year, it was a huge improvement. Hopefully, the pitching motions get just as much love this year. So far, he only one I've seen is Verlander and it's really good.Comment

for me its depth perception on balls that are laced as hard liners, worm burners, are just hard hit grounders and trying to get the angles down in order to cutoff the ball's path.
I've played other baseball games that use a broadcast cam to field and it was difficult for me to get these things down.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I will be sticking with my high cam view that is my favorite.for me its depth perception on balls that are laced as hard liners, worm burners, are just hard hit grounders and trying to get the angles down in order to cutoff the ball's path.

For those concerned about broadcast cam, wont there be an option for all the old cameras?
Looking at that vid, and man it looks VERY realistic. Cant waitComment
