    Zone Read

So i just joined and I've been reading a lot of stuff for 11 and I haven't found this. I like to run a spread offense, and in real football, the most important play for the spread is the zone read. The line doesn't block the end man on the line of scrimmage and the quarterback reads that guy to decide whether to keep the ball or hand it off. This play needs to be fixed because it opens up so many options for a spread offense and the way it is now, it's totally ineffective.

This is not just a problem with the zone read but also plays like the triple option, midline, and other certain option plays. It would be great if EA could fix this but it may be difficult to get the DEs to react correctly, but hopefully they can figure something out because this would be a great add for realism

Couldn't agree more. This is the bread and butter of the spread offense. They need to fix the blocking up front. It's very hard to run with the QB out of this play.

The fact that the most important play in college football over the past decade can't be run even close to correctly in any NCAA game is a travesty. Correctly running a zone read would require a complete overhaul of the blocking mechanics though to implement double teams to the second level, plus you'd need to revise a lot of the defensive code to put in things like scrape exchanges at the linebacker level which counter the zone read, so I won't be holding my breath.

I realize it would take a lot of work to re-do everything to make the play work, but you said yourself that this is the most important play in football in the last 10 years, it has to be in this game because almost every school is now running some form of a zone read
