Re: The Story of Johnny Barbosa

Johnny Barbosa vs Joseph Curtis II Results
June 26th, 2015

The last time these two fighters met, Joespeh Curtis was the belt holder. Johnny would knock out Curtis in Round 7 and win his first championship belt since starting his career. Johnny would lose that belt the following year in his first title defense(Ali).

This puts Barbosa and Curtis both without a championship, trying to work their way up the ranks for another title shot and having to face each other for the second time along the way.

Here are the results of that fight....

This is the first Draw Johnny has witnessed in his career. What does it say about the two fighters? Has Barbosa slipped in performance? He knocked Curtis out in the 7th round of their first fight, but on this day, Curtis would go all 10 rounds, forcing the Draw. Has Curtis improved enough that he can now contend with Barbosa? Obviously, a third fight will answer these questions.
