I want to know why he's pitching complete games with his AA starter! And why the AI manager is allowing him to do so!

guyz, once he moved the difficulty up, he said that the computer was more selective at the plate, therefore there was a battle.

i believe with the right sliders, the balls to strikes ratio will be fine. i also think he should have played on a high difficulty from the beginning ( i guess he just got the game..)

Nothing to be concerned about in my opinion.

That's still a major problem, imo. It was a 2-1 ball game. Throwing to that much contact should produce more runs.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of guys in the MLB who "pitch to contact." As long as he's not lobbing them over the plate and actually trying to work the corners, the results are acceptable...especially considering he's pitching in the minors.

While these can be fun to read and follow along with to find out if he runs across anything either crazy glitchy or really exciting, I wouldn't pin all your hopes or worries on anything that comes from this. Everyone plays differently and you won't truly be able to gauge details until you experience it for yourself.

not true at all. it all depends on what type of pitches he was throwing, and the location.

as the poster said above me... some pitchers pitch for contact ( ground balls, pop flys...)

I remembered that I have a build of 2K Sports' MLB 2K10 at my desk, so I simulated the season to see how Visual Concepts thinks the year is going to go for Little Nicky.

He posted some stuff from a simulated season. Not a whole lot though, which is why I didn't bother to make a thread for it.

As a stat junkie, I do not like those Cy Young numbers by CC. The sim for that season seems to be weighted toward offense (as supported by Sizemore's numbers). Hopefully, this is just 1 season/1 sim (far too small of a sample size to make an impression).

Yeah, he should've simmed a handful of seasons and posted the results instead of just one.

Yeah, the era might get better over a larger sample. I'm willing to bet the K's won't improve much without heavy editing though. Low strikeouts have been an issue in the stats for awhile now. In fact, pitcher stats in general have been too random. Not saying this is definitely an indication of that...just that the small sample of numbers unfortunately trend towards history.

The bright side is that last year, you could get some solid sim stats with editing. So, in theory, any issues should at least be mostly fixable (assuming, of course, that there is no cap in 2K10).

What bothers me the most is that CC's WHIP was 1.37 and that's still Cy Young worthy. His worst WHIP in his entire career was 1.362 when he was 21 years old in his second season. So to say he has his worst year of his career in allowing baserunners is good enough to win the Cy makes me worried about what numbers other pitchers put up. Again, you can't make a conclusion with a sample size of 1, but this will be something to watch for as more reviews/previews come out. I've been bit too many times by 2K, so I'm not buying this game when it first comes out. I'm waiting until I see how the stats shake out from guys who get it and sim several seasons. This forum is the best "review" site for sports games. If there are flaws, they will be exposed and exposed quickly. I expect flaws, but I hope they are manageable. A sim stat engine that doesn't portray expected baseball numbers would be a difficult one to overlook.

                          Pro's:
both pitching and batting are amazingly fun so far, and the Major League level presentation is out of this world.
                          Con's:

Wow, the Rangers got a 90 overall? Looks like they'll be fun to play with this year.

Just noticed the Yankees and Red Sox are 97...wtf? The next highest is 91...

What do u mean you don't think they should be rated that high? To me they are the best two teams in baseball with the Phil's right behind them

Two best teams maybe, but there isn't that much of a difference between them and the other teams. Maybe 93 or 94, but 97?
