    Skate 3 Gameplay Videos (Gameinformer)

Gameinformer has posted some gameplay videos from Skate 3.

"Want more Skate? So did we, and so it was time to jump back on the skateboard and get some tricks going. But this time we thought that we’d bring you along for the ride. For those of you that need to get caught up, Skate 3 picks up in the brand new city of Port Carverton, which means every inch of the place is fresh. Instead of building your name as a new pro recovering from a freak accident or freshly released from jail, you become what Rob Dyrdek would call a mini mogul. Players will build their skateboard brand from a small, unknown board company to a flat-out global phenomenon.

We’ve got some awesome direct feed video featuring everything you’d expect from skateboarding: smooth runs, big tricks, and – of course – painful bails."

This game has much better looking popping and landing physics than in the past, and looks stellar graphically. Hopefully off-board animations have improved.

Oooh, this may sound nitpicky but it looks really weird... watch around the middle-ish part of the video when he jumps down that slope so that he could build speed for that launch, and pay attention to the shadow. As he lands, his shadow is still 20 feet in front of him, waiting for him to flatten out and pop out of the shaded area. It just looks funny.

Otherwise, I should try and hold off from watching any videos of this game (it would be great if I refrained from playing the demo as well). I want this game to be as fresh as possible when I first play it. I'm glad they got rid of the visual effects changes when you get a 3x multiplier, I'd rather focus more on what I'm doing than maintaining some boosted contrast look.

I hope the PS3 version allows custom soundtracks!
