Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
The tackles are unbelievable to say the least (nothing has ever come close to this kind of tackling in videogames) and the toucdown at the end of the trailer was flawless imo..this will be REAL football!

That video was awesome. Those mid-air collisions looked great. I can't wait for May 18th. Day one purchase, no doubt.Comment

Now we need to know about the details of the game modes and how the defense plays. That video looks a lot better than the first one. Hopefully they have the defensive decision working great. If that is working, then this is looking like a great game.Comment

Lol, i dont think anyone in their right mind could actually say 'madden still owns this piece of trash' after watching that video.
Certainly many people will still prefer madden, but come on, that was pretty respectable in its own right.Comment

Keeps looking better and better. I can see where it needs some work but nothing that will cause me to even think about not purchasing day one.
I like how they showed the helmet with the Falcons logo too.
I just hope more info is coming soon. I don't mind the diaries because they are showing off the tech. But I can't wait till they start showing a game being played or how it will look when we play it."NFL/EA/2ksports, caused the worst generation of football gaming ever."

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
I'm not there yet. I'm getting both games. (NCAA Football 11 is the one that's questionable.) Madden has the NFL license, and it offers a different gaming experience from Backbreaker.
However, an interesting point was made in this video.
How will people be able to go back to "canned animations" after playing Backbreaker? Will Backbreaker fundamentally change the way you view Madden?
There's no doubt the envelope has been pushed. People will want an NFL licensed Backbreaker. The NFL has to realize they're not serving the fans with the exclusivity deal. Anyway, enough of that. That's a familiar gripe.
I like the new video. Well done.

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
That was really impressive. The rb reaching out with the ball to get in the endzone, the true gang tackles, the collisions in mid air and the blitz pick up on that one play all looked fantastic. That last play was absolutely beautiful as well. I have no idea how somebody could watch that video and not be impressed by it. Still think the throwing animation could use some work but I can live with that.
With that said , hopefully we can start getting some info on the playbooks and the cpu ai which I still am unsure about.
At the moment this is looking like a first day purchase for me.
It is pretty clear that Euphoria or a similar engine is the future of sports games, at least to me. At this point, it makes any other tech used in current sports game look rather mundane to say the least.Last edited by mgoblue678; 02-19-2010, 07:52 PM.My Teams

WOW! Now this game has my full attention! That was impressive. The ballcarrier. The tackling. The collisions. The player interaction. Wonderful.
I did not expect to be excited about this game, but I sure am now.

MMM...mmmmmmmmm This game looks really good. This looks like it is really a "next gen" game. I also like how they showed that falcon on the helmet. I like what these guys are doing. What world do you live in?Comment

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
Enough with Physics and euphoria animations, we know they looks great.
What about game modes? customization? could we create an NFL structure league?
Artificial intelligece?
If the AI sucks the rest is pointless to me.
Games does look great, but player models are really bad imo, They are far from real. Hope they work on next version (if there is one).
Also i think we need to see more "normal" tackles (wrap tackles). 90% of the tackles were Big Hits.English, is not my first language.Comment
