Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
What?? is this a joke?? Who cares about those back of the box "flashy" things. We want CORE football fundementals not stupid interactive sidelines or how big the players are or ..how far has that got the Madden series.... THIS IS REAL FOOTBALL!I need to see the finished product. If they incorporate interactive sidelines, refs, and genuine gameplay, not just hard hitting tackles, but wrapups and the like as well, it may sway my decision.
I still can't get used to those futuristic uniforms, though... -

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
If i could pick out 1 thing that kind of bothers me is that every player looks the same.
It looks kind of weird when the QB looks huge like everyone else.
I hope there are different body types in the game.Last edited by boooey; 02-20-2010, 12:20 AM.Comment

+1
Don't need the fluff modes, just give me a game that plays like football and I'm set.Comment

This is definitely the future of sports gaming no doubt. I could care less if its 505 games, EA sports, 2k sports, or some unknown publisher/dev team. Someone needs to flesh this engine out.
This needs to be implemented into a full fledged football game. I mean commentators, presentation, and all of the bells and whistle with this physics engine under it all.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
I was thinking the same thing, so I went to the Backbreaker forum site and did a search on player body types. A thread came up that did say there would be a different body types based on position but they weren't sure of how many there would be after that.
There was a still shot they had where you could clearly see a fat linemen in the background.Last edited by mgoblue678; 02-20-2010, 12:22 AM.My Teams

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
This game is going to make me buy a damn 360. I don't play videogames... But football games are my lifeblood, haha. I just hate Madden, so I don't play anything.
That smash at 1:34 in the slo-mo vid is amazing. Runner goes for the hole to get into the endzone, and teh defender comes up and just pops him as he gets to the goal-line. Finally a game with real goal line stands!Comment

Re: Backbreaker Video: Developer Diary #2 - Euphoria (Gamespot)
I have no agenda, nor am I trolling. Stating my opinion is all.Sega,
You are completely missing the point here. its not about the Futuristic uniforms, sideline activity, or refs. (which Madden next gen did not even have until Madden 10).
This game represents a new generation of football gaming, a new choice for consumers, and a company who wants to prove something, who wants to innovate, wants to make a better product, as opposed to just sitting back and collecting your hard earned money while putting in minimal effort year after year.
If you cannot get behind what this game stands for as a video game consumer, then its obvious what your "Agenda" truly is, and your blatant trolling of this Backbreaker forum is not going unnoticed.
But whatever. I'm outta here.Last edited by Segagendude; 02-20-2010, 01:46 AM.Comment

Could this game do what EA has never done? Make a power HB an option on O. I'm extremely excited. If you're looking for shoelaces, windsocks, different hair styles, tattoos you can add, and other frills enjoy madden. Because that's all they ever add, extras and BS. If you NEED the NFL license, enjoy madden. But I will take this game over NCAA and Madden any day. Fake players, no problem. No suction blocking, warp catches, and terrible pursuit angles, yes please.PSN: OldStyle24Comment

Wow. That's all I can say. I don't know how good this game will be, but from these dev diaries it looks crazy. I love how the running back is slicing through the defense at the 2 minute mark. Notice how the defender knocks him off balance just enough to stop the play. Little things like that are just priceless. The game truly looks organic.
As good as this game looks, I just can't help but feel cheated that the game is not based off the NFL. I mean just imagine if 2k had these systems in place with their phenomenal presentation...... Brings a tear to my eye. Back to reality though, ALL HAIL BACKBREAKER. I wish this game much success for giving us an alternative to Madden, and also something truly innovative at the core. A part of me still wishes it was a traditional football game, but I'm very open to see what backbreaker brings.
