Re: MLB`10 The Show Top 5 Second Basemen
I agree but as they told us its a combination of the last 3 years with last year being the highest, he didnt play much 2 yrs ago so I assume thats why hes a little low...I love Hill and he'll be clutch this year..I'd say power down..20 hrs and 85 RBI but still solid and very good defensively..he'll be a leader on that team..he does things the right way and will be showing the wayComment

I don't care what none of y'all say, I'd rather have a championship than a top 9 2B in a video game any day.Note to self: BUY MADDEN 12*
*there are considerable franchise upgrades

Re: MLB`10 The Show Top 5 Second Basemen
Everyone should keep in mind that the overall ratings are exactly that- overall. This includes every rating of every facet of the player's game, including speed, defense, plate discipline, even durability!
Robinson Cano may have a slightly lower overall because he likely has low plate discipline, given the lack of walks over his career. Also, his defense is probably the only truly overrated part of his game. Dude has zero range. He's like Ellsbury in that regard, he'll pull of what seems like an amazing diving play, but it's really a routine play for fielders with better reaction times. He's also not really the best baserunner, not slow, but not quick on the jump either.
So if Cano has very good offensive stats but low Discipline, Reaction, and Baserunning Ability, that would probably lower his overall rating.Comment

The yankees won the WS, good for you. And I'm sure they couldn't have done it without you.
But I don't know what that has to done with some questionable ratings.Comment

Re: MLB`10 The Show Top 5 Second Basemen
Great, another Red Sox/Yankees thread. Can't have enough of that.
How about going back to the topic?
I think Hudson doesn't belong up there either. He is a decent 2B but not elite. He has the reputation of being a great defender like Torii Hunter, but hasn't been a plus defender in years. I don't think he is top 9 material.Comment

Cano over the past 5 years is the second best 2b in baseball. Kinsler has done nothing outside of Texas, Zobrist has 1 season of excellence, Aaron Hill had an ok 2007 and a great 2009, Pedroia is a gamer but not better, Roberts, Kennedy, Hudson are nowhere close to being in Cano's league.
Cano
.320, 130 OPS, 25 HR's, 48 Doubles, 85 RBI's, 100 Runs, 200 Hits from the 7th spot of the lineup.Comment

Re: MLB`10 The Show Top 5 Second Basemen
It's good to see Mr. Kinsler getting his due. I have felt for a while that he has been a wonderful second baseman, and right now I'd have to say he's better than Michael Young. I would have had Brian Roberts up a bit, but it looks like a good list.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

D. Pedroia .311 AVG 102 2B 32 HR 155 RBI
J.Lopez .285 AVG 83 2B 42 HR 185 RBI
I think you Yankee fans are a little bias towards Cano. How come no mention for Jose Lopez??Last edited by ty5oke; 02-22-2010, 05:35 PM.Seattle Pilots GM (2011 - ) Record: 152 - 195
