The game just looks so much better than 2k9. There has been tons of positive feedback already.

    Im sold.

VC has rebuilt my trust this year and I'll be buying it day 1.

I was off the fence, but now i've jumped back on. I donated 60 bucks to cause last year and unfortunately i'm starting to see little things here and there in the demo that has changed my first impressions.

I still have hope and will contnue to read the impressions from people with the retail version. I'm 60/40 right now in favor of buying.

For me, I just want something more than a timing only hitting system.
I think you mean cursor hitting. 2k10's hitting isn't only time based... You have to point the left stick where the ball is if you want to make contact.

Re: Who's off the fence now about buying the game?

Played the demo a few times, and I'm someone who has said repeatedly that I did not want to get burned again running out with $60 and ending up with a bugged-out piece of crap that made me want to throw it against the wall after a week.

But the demo is quite good, and I have to seriously think about it now. The thing is that you can still see some areas of the game that look so poorly done, it's just tough to believe that they've gotten a rid of all of the game-crushing bugs that would destroy the experience. The crowd rendering as the camera pans quickly is terrible. Throwing speeds are off, and there's no way to adjust them. Outfielders and pitchers still don't always appear to have the ball come out of their hand at the proper angle.

The good news is that I'm catching flyballs and making routine infield outs. Really, it just feels like they turned up the assists in fielding to the point where you're actually doing very little, but even that would be preferrable to how it was last year.

As it stands, I'm still a "no" for release day, so that I can further play the demo and check out some reviews. My original plan was to rent the game somewhere for like a week, so that I could play it in-depth, but I'm being swayed more towards a full-on purchase. Hmm...

I'm on the fence between 2k10 and The Show, I only have a PS3, and it was mainly bought because of The Show. With that said, I really like the analog pitching and hitting of 2k, and I feel like The Show's main gameplay is getting a little stale, and I've played the full version at Best Buy.

So the deciding factor will probably be franchise and rosters, The Show has a solid community and will have great rosters from Knight and Co. , so that's keeping me undecided.

I don't think you're seeing a bunch of 2K fanboys defending this company and trying to pretend or convince anyone that the last two or three versions of this game have been any good.

I think we've seen 'credible' feedback and I don't see anyone really putting their seal of approval on anything yet.
Once again, are you freakin' kidding me? You're giving this thing the seal of approval based on a three-inning demo? You call that 'credible' feedback? You have no idea if there are any bugs in franchise or on-line modes or any other problems that typically surface after release with this title.

I'm not saying the final product will be good or bad, but I'm not gonna cream all over myself based on a freaking demo. My idea of 'credible' feedback is hours of gameplay with the final version from several dozen people here, not the handful of regulars who never have anything negative to say about any game (you know who you are).

lol...I completely see your point, but to clarify, you misread his post (and probably his point). He said people AREN'T putting their seal of approval on this yet.

My mistake. No seal of approval from him, which is good. But I still don't regard impressions of a demo as 'credible feedback.' Not with this title's track history. It would be different if we were dealing with a product that has been stellar year in and year out.

I still gotta hear about if the franchise glitches from last year are fixed before I decide to buy it. I've had a lot of fun with the demo, but it will do me no good if franchise has some of those glitches they had last year.

Yeah, I agree with that...just pointing it out was all.

I came away pleased with the demo. Not to the point of being sold, but to the point of wanting to be sold, if that makes any sense...lol

People assumed the same stuff about NBA Live demo and the final product was a really fun game. Just because a companies track record is bad doesn't mean they haven't made a really good product.

I've been on the fence, but I am starting to climb down the side of not buying. The removal of zone hitting is a biggie for me unfortunately. I will certainly wait for impressions/reviews at this stage.

A nickel is better than a penny.

A punch to the stomach is better than a kick in the nuts.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are better than the Detroit Lions.

The point is that when you start off with something that is so terribly bad that it can't get any worse, basically ANYTHING is better. I typically get both games, so I don't have an allegiance to either, but I'm DEFINITEY on the fence for this one, and probably a non-buy for me this year.

In my opinion, when comparing what I've played of 2k10 to 2k9, it's obvious that 2k10 is better, I just don't feel it's enough to warrant my purchase of 2 games this year.
