    Hardy har har.

I call it as I see it and this was pretty blatant.

I just don't get caught up on things that are thrown up in the air and hope they land somewhere.

There isn't a business in America that isn't looking for ways to make more money. To pretend otherwise is hopelessly naive.

I take that back. I just read that Backbreaker won't have any injuries. I'm still taking a wait and see approach toward Madden 11 and I'll be buying it used.

          Exactly.

Madden 10 stayed in my console much longer than Madden 09 due to its superior quality. It had nothing to do with its DLC.

NCAA 10 was never in my console due to its quality.

As much as I hate the comments Peter Moore made, I'm not gonna sit here and say that I'm not gonna buy the game because, well to be honest, I probably am. Like I said earlier, this is really like a slap in the face, but hey, what can you do? If I want to play with the Raiders, I have to play madden. I know once football season get's closer, I'm gonna start getting that itch again. Unless Backbreaker is truly ground breaking, I'm probably gonna be picking up Madden 11. A lot of you are as well. Don't kid yourself. Djordan was right. Some of you will even pick it up at midnight lol. As soon as Ian and the crew start doing there blogs and stuff you all will forget all about this and start getting on board the hype train. Let's not kid ourselves and sit here and say that we're not going to buy Madden 11 because of these comments. If it's a great game....you're gonna buy it. Now if it's a crappy game and you don't buy it because of that, that's one thing, but if it's a great game, no one here is gonna NOT buy it because Peter Moore said this.
I'm not getting on the "hype train" this time around. I've been on it enough to know that it runs right into a brick wall. I'm buying it used, and it's no use getting the game in August because all the needed patches won't be released until November at the earliest.

I never understood this line of thinking.

All businesses try to make money, of course. Nobody is suggesting otherwise.

I think the problem is though, the route the company is taking to achieve its goals.

You have publishers that are all about cut-throat immediate/shrewd profits, and then you have those who are interested in building an industry-quality product, and letting word of mouth and long-term rapport with customers stimulate their revenue/profits.

Obviously the latter is what we the consumers should be 100% behind. Awkwardly though, we have people who are apologists for the former.

Just release Madden as an Iphone app and be done with it. That's where it's headed anyway.

                I kid......

I really don't know what this "digitize Madden" means. As long as M11 continues on the improvement path, I won't bother to pay extra $$$ for extra stuff I probably won't use, i.e. the AFL DLC.

It means they eventually want to make you download the game to your system for 59.99. That way you can't trade it in on them.

Moore is such a tool. If they want to find ways to make more money, then fine. But to say he wants to take further advantage of the consumer when these games ship bug-ridden with very little effective quality assurance is arrogant among other things.

We should have a "Madden Tea Party" movement.

He didn't say anything people haven't been speculating about that company for the better part of the last decade. I think you're putting too much weight on semantics, and might be taking that comment out of context. Many of the moves EA makes drives home Moore's "taking advantage of consumers" point w/o him actually needing to say anything.

Instead of the Tea Baggers, we could be known as the Tea Ballers.

Ahh, I see. Well, if Madden becomes the end-all,be-all of video football games, meaning it's the best version of all time, then I'd download it, no problem.

But, if it's the same ole, same ole, then no.

I don't usually pay attention to stuff like that. What I meant by my statement though, was I don't think they will be keeping something that was in 10 out of 11 so they can charge for it. Things like roster updates I figure would continue to be free.
As far as I know EA Sports is the only company charging for their test codes, and that's spanning all genres, not just sports. 2K Sports still give theirs away for free, at least for their latest NBA2K10 installment.
