    Players Stances and Windups

    I know there was a whole thread for 2k8 dedicated to giving players correct stances instead of the stupid looking generic ones, and same goes for windups.

    I don't have the game yet, but if we could get a nice list going showing what stances and windups would be best for players that don't have a sig stance that would be awesome.

    Very good idea. So I decided to start out with the Braves:

    Nate McLouth - Dustin Pedroia (a little too much wiggle, but it looks to be the closest one)
    Martin Prado - Jack Cust (Scott Rolen is pretty good too)
    Yunel Escobar - This one is tough. For now, I'm gonna say Hideki Matsui (he's in a crouch, but not too deep, has his hands up, isn't open), but I'm not sold on this one.
    Matt Diaz - Ryan Freel (There's nothing like Diaz, but Freel is closest)
    Eric Hinske - Mark Teahen
    David Ross - Harmon Killebrew
    Jordan Schafer - Rick Ankiel
    Barbaro Canizares - Jermaine Dye
    Jason Heyward - Gary Matthews
    Brooks Conrad - Todd Helton
    Mitch Jones - Omar Vizquel
    Joe Thurston - Mark Teahen
    Clint Sammons - Michael Young
    Diory Hernandez - Adrian Beltre
    Freddie Freeman - Chris Duncan

      I just came on with a similar suggestion. Should we make a thread with fixes for other random player edits such as correct pitches and accessories batting stances windups basically a general roster authentication thread? Or if its cool with the OP can we change the title of this thread, unless you prefer to have a dedicated one for windups. I think that would be pretty sweet cause I was looking at some Chi Sox players and some had some pitches I thought were wrong.

      For example I thought Buehrle had a sinker. I may be wrong though.

        Yeah we can just do that in here. If you think a pitcher is missing a pitch or has a different pitch then the ones given just put the player and what pitches he should be given (along with the rating you think the pitch is).

        I also saw that Joey Votto has Brandon Woods' stance so it is good to know that 2k tried to give players the correct stance.

          Yeah, I went to edit Rob Quinlan's stance to Stephen Drew's, but 2k beat me to it! btw, Anyone know what happened to Dave Robert's batting stance? I was going give Reggie Willit's his stance, but I couldn't find it, so I settled for Alex Rios.

                    Thanks! I was looking for some good Mariners stands.
                    I do have Guiterrez using Brooks Robinson and Lopez as Willy Taveraz. But they're very similar to what you have as well. I'll try the other guys you mentioned.

                        If I remember correctly, Brooks Robinson's stance is messed up, and is actually the generic stance I gave him. I only used the generic stance because it lets you choose step and follow through.

                        In a perfect world, I'd love to see a stance creator. Just expand on what they already have. Have options for wide/normal/narrow for their feet, and open/normal/closed. Have High/Medium/Low for all of them. Have an option for upper body angle (Bent/Lean/Upright/Lean Back), hand height (Numbers/Shoulders/Chin/Eyes/Overhead), and Bat angle. Maybe even front elbow angle, and weight distribution (some players put a lot more weight on their back leg). That'd be great, and allow for a lot of customization for odd stances.

                          Yeah, that's a great idea. It'll be really sweet if instead of havng players snap into the high/medium/wide/narrow changes, have them grow or shorten gradually up/down or left/right. That way, we can specifically change the stances exactly within inches of really life counterparts.

                            It's late, I don't feel like making a whole list, but I've now edited the stances/windups of nearly 25 teams to the T.

                            I've tried my best on these after studying some video for almost every player that doesn't have their own stance.

                            I'll post more when I have time, but...

                            Here's the Angels

                            Los Angeles Angels

                            Batting Stances
                            Kendry Morales -> Carlos Delgado
                            Maicer Izturis -> Bengie Molina
                            Erick Aybar -> Orlando Cabrera
                            Reggie Willits-> Vernon Wells
                            Jeff Mathis->Brandon Wood

                            Pitching Windups
                            Brian Fuentes-> Custom, Low Sidearm, no Windup.
                            Joel Pineiro-> Johan Santana
                            Joe Saunders-> Jeremy Bonderman
                            Jason Bulger-> Jonathan Broxton
                            Matt Palmer-> Edinson Volquez
                            Kevin Jepsen-> Dan Wheeler
                            Brian Stokes-> Scott Linebrink
                            Rich Thompson-> Fernando Rodney

                            Feedback welcome if necessary. But trust me, most of these are pretty close.

                              The thing with Choo is that he doesn't extend his hands out that far.

                              I'm currently using Glaus for him, but I don't know if that's completely accurate either.
