I see no Jeff Clement (1B) in the Pirates system or on the FA list. Didn't see him on the out-of-the-box or 3/2 live roster.

Just wondering but did you check the single-A rosters? I noticed they hid several players in there, Edison Volquez is probably the highest rated player stuck in there.

There is no Jeff Clement on either the disc/shipped roster or the initial update. I think that since he didn't play in 2009 on the major league level, he won't be included in the current MLB 10 roster...At least at this time until he plays a game in 2010. This seems to go for several players who have major league experience in the past but didn't play an inning in 2009. Some players might be missing because even though they played a few games in '09, but the affiliated organization might already have all 40 man slots filled with real/better qualified players. It seems that all 30 teams can only have 40 real players in their organization at a specific time. This is probably the reason that real players are removed on weekly online roster updates when first appearance rookies are added . I assume that it has to do with the contract with Major League Baseball. I would guess that the 3rd party contract doesn't have all the liberties that the exclusive contract with take two has.

But can't they put them atleast in the FA pool? However your thinking may have some point but for my squad (Padres) Matt Antonelli is STILL on the 40 man roster. He did not get called up last year but was here in 08 and in last years game. I don't think he is out of the players union for one year. Same with Josh Barfield. I think he should still be a FA in the game as he was in the majors last year, he signed a minor league deal with the Padres and is not on the 40 man but I think a FA is at least worthy instead of having fake guys. I'm sure some other teams have the same situations going on.

Due to all the shuffling that goes on in spring training, the rosters are always a disaster until opening day. There is simply to much movement going on. They have specific reasons why certain guys aren't on the FA list. They add and remove guys from that list as the season goes on. I kept a running transaction thread last season and will this season as well. I'll fire it up again opening day weekend. They forgot 10 guys last season so they dont get everybody.

Yup, I checked the Buccos' roster every which way, including checking the C & 1B positions for all levels. I'm not too worried, as I'm sure SCEA will add him since there's a very good chance he'll be the starting first baseman. Hopefully Knight & Co can wait to use a decent roster update as a base for Full Minors...

I'm calm as can be haha. Do you remember off the top of your head from last year if they came with player card pictures or faces? I wouldn't mind if they had the same photo as last year but just curious. Or if they were real players who you couldn't touch or CAPS that you could edit? I'm trying to remember myself.

Uhm if my memory serves me right I don't think they had their real pictures. Yes, you could edit thos players facial features as well. For example Paul bako was one of teh missing players last year that was added in teh 2nd update and you could mess with his face age hieght weight etc..
