Re: 3/2 IGN Early Backbreaker Gameplay Videos
It's like the Vision Cone on steroids.
I liked the other views as well. Very different, but still able to see the action going on well enough to play."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: Backbreaker Hands-On Preview w/ Gameplay Videos (IGN)
LoL wow, I don't know if it was the tone of the article that's bringing all this doubt out or what, but I've never seen this much concern about the game until this thread...strange.
I'm still pumped about it, this writer took every shot he could at this game it seemed like, even the fact that it's been taking so long to make had a negative tone to it. What's wrong with taking their time to o what's needed to avoid major problems...?Comment

Re: 3/2 IGN Early Backbreaker Gameplay Videos
The graphics look amazing. Extremely realistic. No football video game has ever looked like or played like this.
Because the game is from the player perspective and not the broadcast perspective. It will take awhile to get used to it.
One thing to consider is that the person testing out the game, is not playing with the final build. With that being stated, May 18th can't get here soon enough.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Hands-On Preview w/ Gameplay Videos (IGN)
I agree. It's from IGN. These guys always go higher than everyone else with Madden reviews and before I clicked on the article I expected to see a lot of pop shots taken at this game. Don't know why everyone is so down from this review. The other subjective guys have been positive overall.LoL wow, I don't know if it was the tone of the article that's bringing all this doubt out or what, but I've never seen this much concern about the game until this thread...strange.

I liked the gameplay vids. The sound is pretty weak/generic and not having any commentary/background music adds to that effect, but other than that I am still excited for May.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Hands-On Preview w/ Gameplay Videos (IGN)
I think Ian and company need to worry about their own work and not BackBreaker or any other football game.....they have enough problems as it is...
again these are two very different football games that are releasing 4 months apart.
they are not competing with each other...
its like should Natural Motion should be losing any sleep with what EA is doing with Madden... I think not.
unless EA moves up Madden's release date to May 18th hahahaComment

Re: 3/2 IGN Early Backbreaker Gameplay Videos
The passing mechanic is intriguing to me. Looks alright.
Only thing I might consider adding for the next iteration is a "check-down" button, where one could easily go to a checkdown receiver, if available, in the event that no one is open down the field. I'm concerned that the player quarterback is going to get sacked a ton using the focus feature.Comment

Re: 3/2 IGN Early Backbreaker Gameplay Videos
Ian Cummings, lead designer of Madden 10, said last year and I paraphrase his quote "You cannot fight for yards with Euphoria because the player will just fall down like he's dead". I would just like to say after seeing the running video, that Ian Cummings is 100% false with his statement. Pushing the pile for extra yards is possible with Euphoria.Comment

Re: 3/2 IGN Early Backbreaker Gameplay Videos
Yes! I witnessed that. Maybe I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say maybe when Euphoria was presented to EA at the time it didn't seem plausible, but he was very vocal about it. He was definitely trying to make ProTak seem like the best invention in the world, which imo fell very flat.Ian Cummings, lead designer of Madden 10, said last year and I paraphrase his quote "You cannot fight for yards with Euphoria because the player will just fall down like he's dead". I was thinking "pass it to the RB fool!" during one of those plays in the passing vid.The passing mechanic is intriguing to me. Looks alright.

I thought the passing vid looked good for the most part even though the mechcanic seems odd right now. The run vid looked like the o-line was on vacation for most of it despite what appeared to be a decent job on pass blocking.Comment

We will be able to quickly toggle/check down receivers while we are using the QB.The passing mechanic is intriguing to me. Looks alright.
